● The art and science of interpretation is known as “hermeneutics”.<br />

● It is a CRITICAL element in accurate <strong>Bible</strong> Study. We must understand and ask the<br />

questions above. If we violate the “historical-grammatical” approach to<br />

interpretation we are not handling God’s Word correctly or wisely and will make doctrinal<br />

errors. Incorrect hermeneutics has lead to genocide.<br />

● We must understand the history, the culture, and the language of the people involved in<br />

the books of the <strong>Bible</strong>. Reading the <strong>Bible</strong> should be no different than reading a novel or<br />

the newspaper. It is based on the author’s intent and context of the<br />

message.
