Research Data Security Plans
Part 2 Storage of Electronic Information
When submitting the Research Data Security Plan (RDSP), it is strongly
recommended that electronic files are stored on a departmental server,
not locally on any individual workstation’s hard drive and never on non-
Duke owned computers. Storage on devices other than a server is
expected to have a business justification.
SSNs are never to be stored electronically without the approval of the
Department, CRU, University IT Security Office, Chief Information Officer
and Executive Vice President.
The software product and version that will be used for analysis must be
listed.
Please note that if you use REDCap for data entry and also obtain an
export from REDCap, you should include both the REDCap server
information and the information for where the export will be stored.
Thank you and Farewell from Lauren E. Marcilliat
My husband has recently accepted a position as an attorney at a small
law firm in Sparta, North Carolina, and I will be leaving my position as
Duke Anesthesiology Program Coordinator on August 9th. With legal
jobs at an all time low, we feel incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity.
We are just sorry that we have to leave Duke and Durham to take it! As
many of you know, this was my first job out of college, and I want to thank
all of you for your kindness, patience, and teaching over the past two
years. You made my time here a true pleasure! I plan to keep in touch,
and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this department.
Leaving the department soon? Let’s keep in touch! Please contact Lauren
Marcilliat at lauren.marcilliat@duke.edu with your new mailing and email address
prior to your departure so that we can add you to our database!
Doggie Holly Needs a
Forever Home
1 year old Staffordshire Terrier needs a
home. She is full of energy and very loving.
She weighs about 60 lbs, 2 feet tall
at her head (I am 5 feet tall and her head
is at mid thigh). My landlord won’t let me
keep her, so I need to find her a new home.
