I am pleased to enclose an application form for our McMaster–ASECS Short–Term Resident
Fellowships, per your request. The Fellowships Committee currently selects one fellow annually. The
fellowship may be taken up at a mutually agreed time after the notice and acceptance of award.
Awards are for $1,750.00 U.S. or the Canadian equivalent. One competition is held annually to select
a fellow. The deadline for applications is January 31st each year.
In keeping with the American Society for Eighteenth–Century Studies guidelines, the fellow chosen
is expected to report to the society on the work accomplished during the fellowship.
An award will be given for a project, normally of one month’s duration, which make
significant use of the special strengths of McMaster’s collections. A description of the
Eighteenth-Century Collection is enclosed.
