In 2006, IGT broke new ground in the gaming industry with the release of the Wheel of Fortune ® Special Edition 

Super Spin game. This game is just the start of a hot new trend in the industry, MegaJackpots ® Group Play 

games. These games feature several player stations surrounding a bonus device or offer a group bonus game that 

allows multiple players to get in on the excitement of the bonus play at the same time. Each bonus-eligible player 

wins a unique amount when the bonus is complete. Jackpots are paid by the operator. 

Another MegaJackpots ® Group Play concept includes a jackpot that is guaranteed to hit before the meter reaches 

a pre-set amount. The jackpot is awarded to a random player, selected from all the players on the system who are 

currently playing. 

In 2004, IGT released its fi rst MegaJackpots ® Mystery Bonus system – the Fort Knox ® Mystery Progressives 

system. Since then, we have created several more of these systems, and experienced a high level of game play 

from players. 

Typically, MegaJackpots ® Mystery Bonus systems feature jackpots that are tied to bonus game play. The bonus 

is randomly triggered and the player is guaranteed a minimum fi rst-level win with a chance of advancing to 

successive levels. As players achieve goals throughout the bonus, the award level and the award amount increase. 

All jackpots are paid by the operator. 

® Mystery Bonus Games 

To add variety to game play, IGT also offers linked progressive systems that are confi gured to pay out one of three 

types of jackpots: 

• MegaJackpots ® top award – jackpots are paid in annual installments upon verifi cation of win by an IGT 

representative. Typically, these jackpot types offer higher jackpot starting amounts of $1,000,000 or more. 

• MegaJackpots Instant Winners top award – jackpots are paid all at once upon verifi cation of win by an IGT 

representative. The start amount for these jackpots is typically in the $100,000 to $1,000,000 range. 

• MegaJackpots Rapid Riches top award – jackpots theoretically pay out every three months at a smaller 

amount, such as $50,000. All jackpots are paid upon verifi cation of win by an IGT representative. 

Where linked progressives are not allowed, you can get the same big-name games in stand-alone versions. These 

games offer the same great game play without the linked progressive top award. Instead, a static top award is 

offered, so your players won’t be left out on all the action and you won’t be left out on the earnings these games 

can provide.

Red Hot Jackpots Multi-Level 

Progressives 

Let your spinning reel players in on sizzling progressive action with 

our Red Hot Jackpots Multi-Level Progressive games. Games 

offer operator-selectable, single-denomination game play that 

you can match to your players’ preferences. Linked, multi-level 

progressive game play using the IGT Progressive Controller can 

handle up to 63 games at once. Bells ring when a player enters 

the progressive bonus, and signage is synchronized to bonus 

events for added excitement. Games include a selection of 

payback percentages and reset amounts, light emitting diode (LED)

How Does Guaranteed Play Work? 

To accept the new Guaranteed Play Tickets, IGT machines must be 

upgraded with a Guaranteed Play program to accommodate the game 

accounting system and an additional on-screen countdown meter. 

Currently slot play requires players to insert more money whenever the 

credit balance hits zero. With the Guaranteed Play feature, players 

never insert more money. They have already paid in advance for a set 

number of hands or spins. The credit meter is allowed to go negative 

without stopping play. But play does not stop – no matter how far 

below zero the credit meter goes. As long as hands or spins remain, the 

player simply keeps trying to win to return the credit balance to positive 

territory. If players fi nish with a negative balance, they owe nothing 

since all play was pre-paid. If a positive balance remains on the credit 

meter after all the set number of pre-paid hands or spins have been 

played, players may cash out or use the accumulated credits for regular 

non-guaranteed play. 

To show how many guaranteed hands or spins are left to play, a 

countdown meter has also been added to the game screen. Each 

Guaranteed Play session starts with the countdown meter displaying 

the set number of pre-paid hands or spins available for play and the 

credit meter at zero. With each hand or spin played, the countdown 

meter decrements one game and the regular max bet price of each 

game is subtracted from the player’s credit balance. 

Machines that accept Guaranteed Play Tickets deliver the promised 

amount of pre-paid slot play without changing the game. Best of all, 

you can continue enjoying the same profi t margins as regular play while 

providing your players with a guaranteed amount of entertainment at a 

great price.

Guaranteed Play Timeline 

Now Showing at G2E 2006: Video poker games with the 

Guaranteed Play option. When players insert currency, cash 

value EZ Pay ® tickets or pre-paid Play Tickets into Guaranteed Play

The Play Tickets used with the Guaranteed Play feature are similar to

2. Tickets are good for the same IGT video poker and IGT slot games
