The ability to putt the golf ball two meters towards the target qualifies the athlete for the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> Short Putt<br />
activity.<br />
Possible Modifications for the MOTOR ACTIVITY TRAINING PROGRAM Putting Activity<br />
Perform the putt to the side of the wheelchair as needed<br />
Perform the putt using one hand, if needed<br />
Vary size, weight, and color of ball<br />
Increase the size of the plastic cup<br />
Increases/decrease length of putter as needed<br />
Have horn, bell or flashing lights go off when the ball enters the plastic cup.<br />
Safety Precautions<br />
Use caution when selecting the athlete s putter to insure they don t injure themselves or others.<br />
Provide adequate space for the athlete to perform putt<br />
Avoid being hit when an athlete is holding the putter, by moving away or assisting with hand over hand during<br />
the putting action.<br />
