Chair’s Welcome . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Dear Friends of Mercy, We are thrilled this year to welcome you to a new and exciting venue for Mercy High School’s 30th Annual Auction. For the first time ever, we are holding our largest parent-driven fundraiser at an off-site location: the spacious and wellequipped Diamond Center at Rock Financial Showplace. We especially thank Mercy Dad John Bowen, whose efforts have made tonight’s new location become a reality. This event would not be possible without the enormous effort and hard work of our Mercy parent volunteers. It would also not be possible without the generosity of many other parents and friends who sell tickets, attend the auction, and bid on the items. These efforts guarantee that Mercy High School will continue to be both a rigorous academic environment that offers young women the highest-quality college preparatory education and a warm and welcoming community that provides each student with a lasting spiritual formation. This year’s new location at the Diamond Center makes it possible for us to organize the silent auction placements in a layout that is more bidder-friendly, more spacious, and easier to negotiate. We hope you find this new format helpful and that your experience tonight is an enjoyable one. Please feel free to let us know what you think; we are always looking for ways to make the annual Mercy auction more successful. As auction chair, I have both enjoyed getting to know and work with so many dedicated and talented people – the many parents, alumnae and staff who have stepped forward to devote their time, effort, talents, and money to assist us in this endeavor of raising funds for Mercy. Thank you to all who have contributed – the committee chairs and members, parents and alumnae who hosted gift gathering parties, donors and Mercy staff. Without your help, there would be no chance of pulling off an event such as this. Our children are our treasure. The most important investment we can make is in their education and formation to become creative, productive, and ethical citizens and parents someday. This is even more so in tough economic times, because education is the one investment that will never lose its value. Thank you for joining us in supporting this event that will benefit the education of your daughters.
