Stately palms and a tumbling mountain stream provide an<br />
ever-changing panorama, <strong>of</strong> natural beauty in Borrego<br />
Palm canyon.<br />
There are 200,000 acres <strong>of</strong> desert and mountain<br />
terrain in <strong>the</strong> Borrego <strong>Desert</strong> State park <strong>of</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>rn<br />
California. For <strong>the</strong> most part it is a virgin wilderness,<br />
accessible only to <strong>the</strong> seasoned hiker. There is<br />
one scenic canyon, however, lined with hundreds<br />
<strong>of</strong> native palm trees, that may be traversed without<br />
hardship. A good trail leads part way up Borrego<br />
Palm canyon—and here are a few glimpses<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> panorama Nature has provided for those<br />
who take this trip.<br />
