bike tours in lechtal valley:
The Lechtal bus gives you the possibility of taking a bicycle right into
the Lechtal Valley. Over most of the route, one cycles directly along
the Lech River or crosses through riverside woodlands. Even if one
decides to do the entire route, one hardly notices a difference in altitude
– approximately 300 m between Forchach and Steeg, which is
easy to complete – despite the not inconsiderable length of the tour.
And for those who want an even easier tour, there’s the option of
cycling downstream, almost effortlessly, from Steeg to Forchach.
The bus can then be used for the return journey. www.lechtal.at

welltain ® : the fitness formula of the mountains
Welltain (wellbeing in the mountain) is no passing fad, but a scientifically
supported philosophy that is based on the close collaboration
of medicine, tourism and the hotel industry.
It is no coincidence that the idea behind welltain has its origins in
the Arlberg area. This is because the moderate altitude (1500 –
2500 m) plays an important role: the research project AMAS 2000
(Austria Moderate Altitude Study) provided scientific proof for the
very first time that a properly conducted, tailor-made hiking vacation
in the mountains has a considerable recouperative effect.
The welltain fitness formula is based on the following factors:
movement
coaching
relaxation
Welltain can also provide you with a greater feeling of being on
vacation.
Actively increase your wellbeing. Experience your holiday with all
your senses. Improve your fitness: welltain redefines the value of a
vacation.

welltain ® trail
Take the chance to get to know various elements of the Welltain ®
Vacation (wellbeing in the mountain) on this hiking trail. Exercises on
breathing, mobilizing, stretching and on how to sharpen your senses
will be explained shortly.
Exercise is healthy – or even better: exercising the proper way is healthy.
The intensity, durance and repetitions are just a couple important
factors of the proper, healthy way to exercise. The individually desig -
ned training programme guarantees maximum benefits for your
health and fitness. Next to active hiking, the regeneration periods are
of key importance for optimising your health and wellbeing.
Wellbeing in the mountain is …
… walking barefoot over mountain meadows.
... inhaling fresh air deeply and consciously.
... wading through crystal clear waters.
... considering the path as the goal.
... hiking in comfortable pace.
... individually designed, proper and healthy exercise accompanied
by our qualified Welltain ® Coaches.
... enjoying the mountains using all your senses!!
Take your time. Let yourself be awed by the scenery. Enjoy! It is your
vacation!

places of vitality
It is almost impossible to choose from the various places of vitality
in Lech and Zürs since the possibilities are numerous to experience
the multitude of unique impressions. It all depends on the time you
want to invest while hiking. Individuality leads to different perceptions
of impressions depending on the situation and locality. Give yourself
”more time and more space“ to sense the places of vitality as such.
Invigorate your health, your senses and with it your life. It lies within
one individual’s abilities to take that chance. The choices of places
offered are selected suggestions only; of course you can find many
more places of vitality if you keep your senses sharpened. Enjoy the
time on the paths you choose to the places we suggest with all your
senses.
(a) karbühel
Enjoy the unique openness despite the proximity of the imposing
mountains. Take a rest for a while and let your feet have some fresh
air!
(b) am stutz (gstütt alpe)
This place offers one of the many view points of picturesque Lech.
Despite the short distance to Lech it is especially appealing through
its tranquillity particularly the mornings, at sunrise!
(c) pazüel tal
Contrast and harmony make this high valley strikingly beautiful.
Green mountain meadows, the colourful flora of the Alps, smooth
waters and rocky mountain peaks … inimitably! Reachable from
Zürs or Rüfikopf.

(d) ochsen gümple
The path that leads to charming and quiet Ochsen Gümpel is hardly
walked on. Enjoy the rippling spring waters that are the source of
the waterfall below..
(e) between formaletsch and pöngertlekopf
Well known is the ”Steinerne Meer“, but not the alternative, gentle
access towards it. Especially the decent from the ”Steinerne Meer“
offers impressive and inimitable places that will supply you with vitality.
(f) spullerwald forest
The hiking trail from the Jagdhütte to the road towards Spullersee is
a particularly unique opportunity to experience ancient mountain
forests. Enjoy the ambient noises of the woods, its scents … and
yourself amidst it all!
(g) lake butzensee
The Butzensee is a crystal clear, natural mountain lake between
Mohnenfluh and Butzenspitzen. Charming views and beautiful relaxing
rest stops offer the wonderful opportunity for relaxation and meditation.
important information on the hiking trails
The accesses to the described trails and places of vitality offer various
degrees of difficulties and distances and request adequate fitness
and equipment. Please get further information at Lech Zürs
the fishing waters of lech and zürs
a brief look at the most important conditions for fishing in the
waters around lech and zürs
lechriver
The fishing areas of the Lechriver are 19 km long and extend from
the confluence of the Markbach in Zug and the upper boundary of
Zürs to the confluence of the Krumbach (Tyrol provincial border).
The only permitted fishing method in areas 1, 2 and 4 is the artificial
fly without a barbed hook. In area 3, blinker and artificial bait
(including with protective hooks), as well as the angling rod are allowed.
A maximum of 3 fish per day may be caught. The protective
size for all fish is 30 cm. Having caught a fish, its details must
immediately be entered on the day chart, together with the time
and area. The fishing season on the Lech River is from mid-June to
mid-September. Fishing charts can be obtained from Lech Zürs
Tourismus and at the fishing pond in Zug.
Fish types: river trout, mountain charr and grayling.
lake spullersee
Angling on the lake Spullersee is permitted with all types of bait
(except live bait fish). However, fishing is only permitted using one
fishing rod per day chart. Only protective hooks are allowed. A maximum
of 6 fish per day may be caught. Each catch must be immediately
entered in the catch statistics, which are to be presented to
the supervising angler on demand. The uniform protective size for
trout and charr is 28 cm. A fishing permit for the Spullersee can
be obtained at Lech Zürs Tourismus, at the fishing pond in Zug and
at Alpe Dalaaser Stafel.
The Spullersee is easy to reach on foot or by the hiking bus. Fishing
season: beginning of June to end of October. Fish types: rainbow
trout, river trout, lake trout, river charr and lake charr.

lake formarinsee
Fishing in the lake Formarinsee is only allowed using a fishing rod
and tackle. Catching minnows, as well as fishing with floating lines,
nets and fishing with barbed hooks are prohibited (except for fly
rods). A maximum of 6 fish per day may be caught and must be longer
than the minimum size of 25 cm. The caught fish must be
immediately killed and entered into the catch statistics. Fishing permits
are issued by Lech Zürs Tourismus or in the Formarin Alpe.
Fishing season: beginning of July to beginning of October.
fishing pond
At the fishing pond in Zug you can catch your own fish and then
enjoy them pan-fried or smoked. In addition to pan-fried or marinated
trout, the local speciality is smoked trout, which is smoked over
a special wood-chip mix and herbs and served hot. You can also rent
fishing rods here.
Fishing season: beginning of June to end of September.
www.fischteich-lech.at; office@fischteich-lech.at
further information
Advice and information on the subject of fishing as well as lectures
for fly fishing can be obtained at the club house by the fishing
pond.
Children under the age of 16 are only allowed to fish when accompanied
by an adult.

the best way to master 18 holes, run by the
lech golf academy!
Amidst the wonderful mountains
of the Arlberg region we
have created a lovingly laid
out 3-hole golf academy for
all golf enthusiasts, complete
with driving range, putting
green and practice bunker.
The golf course is located in
the centre of Lech next to the
Hotel Berghof. It offers beginners,
advanced players and
experts alike the opportunity
to practice their golf swing.
We have again managed to
involve golf professional Daniel Green for expert advice and training.
Here, this professional player still has time to look after each and
every golfer! Using video analysis and the right tips, he prepares you
to start playing on golf course, or improves your drive, chip or bunker
shot during the training sessions. On request, our professional player
Daniel will join you on one of the golf courses in the area.
Some 15 golf courses between Innsbruck and Lake Constance can
be reached in 1,5 hours by car.
Regular preparatory courses are held for beginners. Golf etiquette,
regulations, safety on the golf course and much more is introduced
to you in a stress-free environment.
