Summary <strong>of</strong> visit<br />

The visit was deemed to be highly successful by all partners involved. T<strong>here</strong> have been a number <strong>of</strong> proposals<br />

tabled that will now be progressed through the <strong>NICEC</strong> Work Mentoring programme. The visit highlighted the<br />

potential for Derry City to engage in European partnerships that can bring both expertise and financial reward.<br />

The visit also highlighted the role <strong>of</strong> <strong>NICEC</strong> in furthering N. Ireland’s potential as an outward and forward<br />

thinking region.<br />

Next steps<br />

A work mentoring visit is scheduled to allow for key personnel from Derry City Council, the <strong>University</strong> and<br />

local community representation to work directly on project proposals for specific culture regeneration projects<br />

in Derry / Londonderry.<br />

Derry City Council has made recommendations to pursue this partnership actively in the period post 2004.<br />

detailed reports are available that outline the contact base <strong>of</strong> the partner organisations and outcomes achieved<br />

with each organisation specifically.
