Hello all! In fine arts this week we have made amazing paintings. Instead of painting trees or water this week we painted water out of fish and trees out of pipes. We even painted flowers out of watermelon slices and some many more crazy paintings. Comic strip filled its entire room with drawings and, of course, new comics. Fashion accessories filled the camp with stylish accents. In ceramics we made the most imaginative mugs I have ever seen. Tie-dye covered the hill like colorful leaves, and the rocket launches were not to be missed. In arts and crafts this week we finished our prints and made the set and decorations for performing arts musical medley. The theater looked beautiful. It looked just like Broadway. Swimming, Swimming, In The Swimming Pool… Greetings, Everyone! Another week has come to pass and I can't tell you all how amazed I am at the progress of our swimmers! The swim counselors are doing a great job teaching, and the kids are doing an even better job learning and applying the instruction they're given! It's awesome to see all six lanes of our Olympic sized swimming pool being put to good use and to see all of you campers having fun while still improving your skills! One thing to remember when it's as hot as it is outside...drink lots and lots of water, especially if you've been doing a lot of swimming during the day because, believe it or not, you sweat more when you swim than you realize and can easily become dehydrated if you aren't drinking enough water. So stay hydrated, and keep up the good work in the pool! I'm also very excited about archery this week, as we will be having an advanced archery period for those of whom want to test their skills at distance shooting! We will also be having, what I call, Pollock Archery. This period of Pollock Archery will include paint filled water balloons placed on the targets with a fresh sheet of white paper as the backdrop, so essentially when you hit the balloons they splatter paint on the paper and you create art threw archery, very exciting!!! I would also like to compliment all those who keep signing up for slackline. I love seeing you all make a step, another step, and then another, and seeing your determination to stay on the line keep improving. Many of your techniques differ, but your commitment to learning and continues trying after many failed attempts is inspiring to see, not only inspiring me, but your fellow camper friends and counselors that are teaching you as well! I would be proud to call you a bunch of serious slackers ;) because you guys are rockin' it on the slackline! And for those of you who haven't signed up for archery or slackline, and will still be here after week 4, sign up because it's sooo much fun!!! And to all my swimmers who are doing such an amazing job learning, keep on keeping on in the pool and thank your swim counselors for doing such a good job!
