SWIMMING. Instructional swimming is included in your schedule every day (unless you are entering 9th & 10th grades — it’s optional for
you). If you are already an advanced swimmer, we will offer fun and interesting things for you to do at this time. In addition to instructional
swim, you can also choose "free swim" each day.
CLUBS: “Clubs” is a longer activity period that’s right after dinner three nights a week. Of course, you get to choose your Club activity. If
you choose a sport, you play without as much instruction as regular activity periods, and we sometimes mix the ages. We often play sports
tournaments during Clubs (see next page). If you choose arts, you can work on a project that you already started in ceramics, crafts, drawing
or painting. Clubs is a good time for rehearsals for drama shows, talent shows, gymnastic exhibitions, dance shows, etc. We also use
Club time to launch our model rockets, play chess or role playing games, work on the camp newspaper and lots of other fun things.
“Evening Shade” is another Clubs choice for those who don’t want a structured activity, but would rather spend a more relaxed time doing
individual activities.
TOURNAMENTS: During each two-week session of camp we have one or two tournaments. The emphasis is on fun and including everyone
who wants to participate. There are no tryouts — everyone’s on a team, including beginners — and everyone plays. Tournaments in recent
years have included soccer, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, tennis, fencing, kickball, chess, ping pong, rock-paper-scissors, ga-ga, gladiator
(this is not violent!), dodge ball, disc golf, archery.
What are your favorite tournaments? Do you have suggestions for new tournaments? ____________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
EVENING PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS: In addition to our regular activities, clubs and tournaments we have evening programs,
drama productions, talent shows, dances and theme days at camp. (Some recent theme days: Apache Relay, Super Hero Day, Water Color
World, Twin Day, Pirate Day, International Day, CampStock, Rock of July.)
If you have any ideas for evening activities or theme days, please share them with us: ______________________________________________
