Mohd Roslan bin Ismail
Senior General Manager, Engineering & Maintenance
Managing Director, MAS Aerospace Engineering
Mohd Roslan Bin Ismail, aged 54, graduated with a Master
of Science (MSc) (Transport Planning) from Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Johor, in 1996 and holds a Malaysian
DCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License.
He started his career in Malaysia Airlines as a Licensed
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and has more than 29 years of
working experience in the Engineering Division. He is currently
a member of the Board of Directors of MAS GMR Aerospace
Engineering Co. Ltd, India, Pan Asia Pacific Aviation Services
Ltd, Hong Kong, (PAPAS), Honeywell Aerospace Services
(M) Sdn Bhd, GE Engine Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd (GEESM)
and Hamilton Sundstrand CSC (M) Sdn Bhd. He is also the
Managing Director of MAS Aerospace Engineering Sdn Bhd, a
wholly owned subsidiary company of Malaysia Airlines.
Effendi bin Abdul Rahman
Senior General Manager, Human Resources
Effendi bin Abdul Rahman, aged 54, holds a Bachelor degree
in Computing Science from Imperial College London and
Masters in Business Administration from Ohio University, USA.
He was appointed Senior General Manager, Human Resources
in April 2006 and has instituted many changes in the airline’s
human resource operations and strategy since, including
the organisation-wide implementation of the Performance
Management System.
Before joining MAS, he was the Human Resource Director in
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad. Prior to Dutch Lady, Effendi
held a similar role at Texas Instruments. He also has extensive
business related experience in other management roles at other
organisations such as Northern Waste Industries, Proton and
Time Telecommunications.
Muzzaffar bin Othman
Senior General Manager, MD’s Office
Muzzaffar is currently Senior General Manager in the MD’s
office. His portfolio covers support functions (i.e. IT, Property),
purchase & lease of aircrafts, strategic procurement, product
development and government and industry relations.
Prior to the current assignment, he was in Strategic
Procurement. More recently, his procurement team facilitates
Stuctural Cost Savings initiatives in MAS.
Before joining MAS, he did Business Process Re-engineering
in Citibank and prior to that he was with IBM’s Business
Consulting Services in its Six Sigma and Supply Chain Management
space.
Shahari bin Sulaiman
Managing Director, MASkargo
Shahari Sulaiman, aged 47, graduated from the University
of Southern California with a BSc in Aerospace Engineering
in 1985. He subsequently joined Malaysia Airlines in the
Engineering Division and had served 15 years in Engineering
covering Technical Services, Structural Engineering, Aircraft
Evaluation, Reliability Analysis and freighter conversions.
In early 2001, he was brought into MASkargo as a Senior
Management team member to turnaround the company. The
team managed to turnaround the company in one and a half
years and has been profitable ever since. In MASkargo, he
has accumulated experiences in Freighter Planning, Business
Planning, Sales, Revenue Management and Operations by
managing the respective departments at some point over
the last 7 years. He was appointed to the current position in
September 2007.
