FINANCES The major organisational restructure in 2011 not only refocused CILIP on what members told us they wanted, it also streamlined activities and cut our cost base dramatically. In a tough economic climate, income was down on 2010 by £780,000 but we made savings of £865,000 by closing loss-making enterprises, reducing staff costs and generally becoming a more efficient operation. This was demonstrated by our end of year operational results which showed a surplus of nearly £110,000 against a deficit of almost £500,000 in 2010. Total income for central operations in 2011 was £4,162,000, made up of: Total expenditure on central operations in 2011 was £4,693,000.
