RRUUBBRRIICC For Hoot Project: Biography Language Arts- Option 4 Possible Points Points Criteria for Biography Biography includes where Carl Hiaasen was born/grew up, Earned 20 family structure as a boy, education, life experiences, current family structure and personal convictions (things he feels strongly about). 10 The conclusion tells how you think Carl Hiaasen’s experiences influenced the writing of Hoot. 10 Research utilizes at least 3 references. 10 Writing is well organized and includes a quality introduction and conclusion. 10 Writing communicates thoughts clearly and thoughts are elaborated upon to an appropriate degree of depth. 10 Writing utilizes higher-level vocabulary throughout. The first page is a title page with the title of the 7 biography, your name and the date. At least one picture/graphic is included and the page is creatively presented. 5 The last page is titled “Bibliography” and lists all references in teacher-specified style. 5 The title of the biography relates to Carl Hiaasen’s life, is original and creative. 5 Paper has no grammatical, punctuation, capitalization or spelling errors. Paper is a minimum of two pages, has title, 1” margins, 5 double-spaced, 5-space indentations for paragraphs, numbered pages, and 12-point font. Pages are stapled together in the upper-left-hand-corner, 3 or placed in a folder with a clear plastic cover. Pages are not wrinkled, torn, or out-of-order.
