THE SHANTY
ROOM HIRE
-Room hire is based on 5 hour duration
-Each additional hour required will be charged at a rate of $100
-Function times are 7pm-12am or 8pm-1am unless organised with management when
booking the function
-Please note that no function will be run later than 1am
BEVERAGES
-All beverages must be purchased on a consumption basis
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel is a fully licensed venue and as such, no alcoholic
beverages can be bought onto the premises
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel staff strictly adheres to Responsible Service of Alcohol
guidelines at all times
ENTERTAINMENT
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel has access to a large number of DJ’s, performers, karaoke
& jukebox equipment. Please do not hesitate to discuss your needs with our
Management team
-If you would prefer to organise your own entertainment, Management must be
informed of the arrangements prior to the function
DEPOSITS
-Deposits for functions will be charged at the rate of 100% of room hire, all additional
costs for food and bar tab need to be paid in full no later than 14 days prior to the date
of the function. Open bar or extensions on bar tabs can be paid before your function
starts and extensions need to be paid upfront before the tab continues
PAYMENT
-The room deposit must be paid within 7 days of confirming your booking. Final
payment must be paid 14 days prior to the date of the function. Total liquor is charged
by consumption and the account must be settled by either cash or credit card at the
conclusion of the function
CONFIRMATION
-A guaranteed minimum number of guests must be confirmed 14 days prior to the
function. Numbers may be increased up to 3 days prior to the function
CANCELLATIONS
-The deposit will only be refunded if you give 14 days notice prior to the date of your
function
SECURITY
-If security is required on the night, you will be charged at the flat rate of $100 per
security staff member required. Style of function and numbers will dictate necessity
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel and staff reserve the right to exclude or eject any person
whose behaviour is objectionable from any function on the premise, without liability
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel reserves the right to stop serving alcohol to anyone we
deem to be intoxicated, and to those that we think are supplying alcohol to minors
-Function organisers will be responsible for any damage sustained to any part of the
venue by themselves or their guests. Along with taking full responsibility of any
minors that may attend in the absence of their parents or legal guardians
-Management will take every care, but do not accept any responsibility for loss or
damage to any goods left on the property before, during or after your function
PRICING
-All prices are based on current costs and may be subject to change. Any tariff
changes will be advised
SMOKING POLICY
-Smoking is not permitted in the function room at any time
PROPERTY DAMAGE
-Organisers are financially responsible for any damage caused to the function area or
surroundings by themselves or their guests, delegates, employees or agents before,
during and after a function
RESPONSIBILTY
-The Ferntree Gully Hotel does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to
any property that is left at the hotel prior to, during or after a function

Our friendly staff will happily cut your cake for you free of charge.
When your function starts at 7pm your food will be served between
7.30pm-9.30pm and 8pm functions food will be served between
8.30pm-10.30pm.
