This article examines how use of the My Grade feature in Blackboard affects student<br />

motivation. Student monitoring of their own grade increased motivation to study and pay<br />

attention in class. Not only does this demonstration the usefulness of providing students with an<br />

online grade monitoring system, but also provides an example to students that they can relate<br />

This article discusses the effects of participating in a diversity course. Specifically, researchers<br />

were interested in how this might affect students’ awareness of racism and White privilege.<br />

This is a good way to relate emotion to motivation to decrease negative racial attitudes and<br />

behaviors.<br />
