8.1.2 Lineage<br />
Recommendati<strong>on</strong> 18 Following the ISO/DIS 19157 Quality principles, if a data provider has a<br />
procedure for the quality management of their spatial data sets then the<br />
appropriate data quality elements <strong>and</strong> measures defined in ISO/DIS 19157<br />
should be used to evaluate <strong>and</strong> report (in the metadata) the results. If not,<br />
the Lineage metadata element (defined in Regulati<strong>on</strong> 1205/2008/EC)<br />
should be used to describe the overall quality of a spatial data set.<br />
