Augustine, Fl, passed through
the pearly gates of heaven into
paradise on the 18th of June
2011, at her home in the company
of her loving family. She
was born to the parents of

James L. ‘Jim’ Gronquist age
65, of Blue Rapids, passed
away Wednesday, June 15,
2011 at the Frankfort
Community Care Home.
Jim was born August 9, 1945
at Garrison to Gleed Q. and
Clara M. Burton Gronquist. He
joined the US Navy and served
in Vietnam. Upon return home
he completed his GED at
Valley Heights. He married
Wanda Russell they were
divorced. He married Laura
Blevins they were divorced.

Schwartz
Margaret E. Schwartz, 95, of
Hanover, died Wednesday, June
15, 2011 at the Gardenside
Care Center in Fairbury,
Nebraska.
A vigil service was held at
7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19 at
the Hanover Mortuary.
Mass of Christian Burial was
held at 10:00 a.m., Monday,
June 20 at St. John’s Catholic
Claude and Mary Keefover of
Waterville Kansas, in 1925.
Jackie resided in Topeka
Kansas with her late husband
Joe Berger until 1997 at which
time they moved to Crescent
Beach Fl. While in Topeka she
had an accomplished career as
a hair stylist owning and operating
two different beauty
salons: Jackie’s Beauty Salon,
and Jackie’s High Fashion
Hospital in Lamar, Missouri.
Visitation was Sunday from
noon until 5:00 p.m at Kinsley
Mortuary.
A rosary service was held at
7:30 p.m., Sunday, at St.
Gregory’s Catholic Church in
Marysville.
Mass of Christian Burial was
held at 10:00 a.m., Monday,
June 20, at St. Gregory’s
Catholic Church. Father Jim
Shaughnessy and Father Gary
Pennings officiated0.
Burial was in St. Gregory’s
Catholic Cemetery.
Dwayne was born on April
27, 1938 at Belleville, Kansas,
the son of Irvil and Myrtle
(Allen) West. On September 1,
He had been a dairy farmer
before his health kept him from
working.
Survivors include his two
children, Tina Gronquist of
Wymore, Nebraska and Jamie
Hanson and husband Phil of
Blue Rapids, a brother, Larry
Gronquist of Cheyenne
Wyoming, five sisters. Helen
Gano of Barnes, Ione Walker
and husband Bob of Clay
Center, Nancy Bergsten of
Humboldt, Nebraska, Alice
Nemechek and husband Hugh
of Blue Rapids and Mary Jean
Baker and husband Melvin of
Chilhowee, Missouri.
Jim was preceded in death by
Church in Hanover. Father
Randall Weber will officiate.
Janet Fritschi played the
organ while the church choir
sang “Amazing Grace”,
“Behold the Lamb”, “Eat the
Spread” and “On Eagles
Wings”.
The pallbearers were Mike
Rencin, Norbert Klipp, Robert
Lohse, Anthony Stamm, Larry
Schwartz and Harold Schwartz.
Burial was in St. John’s
Catholic Cemetery, Hanover.
Margaret was born April 14,
1916 near Hanover, the daughter
of Fred Jr., and Maggie
(Seitz) Wulff. She was baptized
and confirmed in the Zion
Lutheran Church in Hanover
by Pastor Karl Klinger. She
attended Hanover public
schools.
On February 25, 1936, she
married Paul Lohse at Hanover.
To this union three children
were born, Wilma Jean, Sarah
Jane and Harlan Dean. They

She was a gifted and talented
artist and owned and operated
Jackie’s Ceramic Shop and
taught the techniques of porcelain
doll making. She was a
charter member of Cherished
Doll Club of Topeka Kansas,
member of the National
Association of Doll Makers
and Doll Artisan Guild..
After the retirement of her
1961, he married Patricia Jolly.
Along with his wife, Pat, her
brother and his wife, they
owned and operated Jolly West
IGA in Blue Rapids from 1971-
1975. They then moved to
Wichita and Dwayne worked in
the aircraft industry, working
for Boeing, Lear Jet, and
retired from Raytheon in 2000.
In 2001 they moved to
Marysville.
Dwayne was a member of St.
Gregory’s Catholic Church,
Knights of Columbus,
American Legion Riders and
the Blackhawks Motorcycle
Club.
He loved fishing, bird hunting,
riding motorcycles, being
a grandson, Garrett Logan
Gronquist and two sisters, Tina
Conn and Agnes Marie
Gronquist, who died in infancy
and a brother Jerome
Gronquist.
Funeral services will be held
at 10:00 am, on Monday, June
20, 2011 at the Blue Rapids
United Methodist Church with
Reverend Bob Whitaker officiating.
Burial will be at
Fairmont Cemetery in Blue
Rapids. Viewing will be from
Noon until 8:00 pm, Sunday at
Terry-Christie Funeral Home in
Blue Rapids with visitation
from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Memorials are to be desig-
lived near Lanham for 11 years,
then near Hollenberg until Paul
passed away.
On November 11, 1963, she
married Joe Schwartz of
Hanover. He worked in construction
so the next few years
were spent living in various
towns following his job. In
January 1967 they settled down
in Hanover.
Margaret worked part time at
Schwartz’s Store for several
years. She enjoyed fishing,
hunting Indian artifacts and
mushroom hunting. She also
enjoyed writing poems and stories
for birthdays and anniversaries.
She recycled, made
many windsocks, liked riding
horses, doing crossword puzzles
and loved good bargains.
Her pride and joy was riding
her bicycle in the Days of ’49
parades.
She was a member of St.
John’s Catholic Church, Altar
Society, Label committee, and
Kenneth L. Sells, Agent
husband from JB Travel Club,
she and Joe moved to Crescent
Beach were she continued with
canvas paintings and many
other artistic endeavors . She
was a beautiful loving person
who touched the souls of many
who knew her.
Memorial Services will be
Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St.
Augustine Anastasia Catholic
Church. Flowers are gratefully
with his family and July 4th
parties.
Survivors include his three
sons, Mike (Fanita) West,
Wichita, Gary (Lucy) West,
Marysville, and Bill (Allison)
West, Gunnison, Colo.; three
grandchildren, Eric West, Wade
West and Megan Willoughby;
four great-grandchildren,
Rhaygen, Bryson, Payton
Willoughby and Cooper West.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; wife, Pat, on April
25, 2010 at Marysville; and
brother, Gary West.
Memorial contributions will
be designated later and can be
sent in care of Kinsley
Mortuary.

on May 9, 1962, Joe on
November 29, 1993; 2 infant
children; son-in-law, Don
Banahan; and four brothers,
Floyd, Edwin, Clarence and
Wilbur.
A memorial fund has been
established in her name to be
designated at a later time.
Contributions may be sent in
care of the Hanover Mortuary.
