away Wednesday, June 15,<br />

2011 at the Frankfort<br />

Community Care Home.<br />

Jim was born August 9, 1945<br />

at Garrison to Gleed Q. and<br />

Clara M. Burton Gronquist. He<br />

joined the US Navy and served<br />

in Vietnam. Upon return home<br />

he completed his GED at<br />

Valley Heights. He married<br />

Wanda Russell they were<br />

divorced. He married Laura<br />

Blevins they were divorced.<br />

Hanover, died Wednesday, June<br />

15, 2011 at the Gardenside<br />

Care Center in Fairbury,<br />

Nebraska.<br />

A vigil service was held at<br />

7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19 at<br />

the Hanover Mortuary.<br />

Mass of Christian Burial was<br />

held at 10:00 a.m., Monday,<br />

June 20 at St. John’s Catholic<br />

Claude and Mary Keefover of<br />

Waterville Kansas, in 1925.<br />

Jackie resided in Topeka<br />

Kansas with her late husband<br />

Joe Berger until 1997 at which<br />

time they moved to Crescent<br />

Beach Fl. While in Topeka she<br />

had an accomplished career as<br />

a hair stylist owning and operating<br />

two different beauty<br />

salons: Jackie’s Beauty Salon,<br />

and Jackie’s High Fashion<br />

Hospital in Lamar, Missouri.<br />

Visitation was Sunday from<br />

noon until 5:00 p.m at Kinsley<br />

Mortuary.<br />

A rosary service was held at<br />

7:30 p.m., Sunday, at St.<br />

Gregory’s Catholic Church in<br />

Marysville.<br />

Mass of Christian Burial was<br />

held at 10:00 a.m., Monday,<br />

June 20, at St. Gregory’s<br />

Catholic Church. Father Jim<br />

Shaughnessy and Father Gary<br />

Pennings officiated0.<br />

Burial was in St. Gregory’s<br />

Catholic Cemetery.<br />

Dwayne was born on April<br />

27, 1938 at Belleville, Kansas,<br />

the son of Irvil and Myrtle<br />

(Allen) West. On September 1,<br />

He had been a dairy farmer<br />

before his health kept him from<br />

working.<br />

Survivors include his two<br />

children, Tina Gronquist of<br />

Wymore, Nebraska and Jamie<br />

Hanson and husband Phil of<br />

<strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong>, a brother, Larry<br />

Gronquist of Cheyenne<br />

Wyoming, five sisters. Helen<br />

Gano of Barnes, Ione Walker<br />

and husband Bob of Clay<br />

Center, Nancy Bergsten of<br />

Humboldt, Nebraska, Alice<br />

Nemechek and husband Hugh<br />

of <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong> and Mary Jean<br />

Baker and husband Melvin of<br />

Chilhowee, Missouri.<br />

Jim was preceded in death by<br />

Church in Hanover. Father<br />

Randall Weber will officiate.<br />

Janet Fritschi played the<br />

organ while the church choir<br />

sang “Amazing Grace”,<br />

“Behold the Lamb”, “Eat the<br />

Spread” and “On Eagles<br />

Wings”.<br />

The pallbearers were Mike<br />

Rencin, Norbert Klipp, Robert<br />

Lohse, Anthony Stamm, Larry<br />

Schwartz and Harold Schwartz.<br />

Burial was in St. John’s<br />

Catholic Cemetery, Hanover.<br />

Margaret was born April 14,<br />

1916 near Hanover, the daughter<br />

of Fred Jr., and Maggie<br />

(Seitz) Wulff. She was baptized<br />

and confirmed in the Zion<br />

Lutheran Church in Hanover<br />

by Pastor Karl Klinger. She<br />

attended Hanover public<br />

schools.<br />

On February 25, 1936, she<br />

married Paul Lohse at Hanover.<br />

To this union three children<br />

were born, Wilma Jean, Sarah<br />

Jane and Harlan Dean. They<br />

artist and owned and operated<br />

Jackie’s Ceramic Shop and<br />

taught the techniques of porcelain<br />

doll making. She was a<br />

charter member of Cherished<br />

Doll Club of Topeka Kansas,<br />

member of the National<br />

Association of Doll Makers<br />

and Doll Artisan Guild..<br />

After the retirement of her<br />

1961, he married Patricia Jolly.<br />

Along with his wife, Pat, her<br />

brother and his wife, they<br />

owned and operated Jolly West<br />

IGA in <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong> from 1971-<br />

1975. They then moved to<br />

Wichita and Dwayne worked in<br />

the aircraft industry, working<br />

for Boeing, Lear Jet, and<br />

retired from Raytheon in 2000.<br />

In 2001 they moved to<br />

Marysville.<br />

Dwayne was a member of St.<br />

Gregory’s Catholic Church,<br />

Knights of Columbus,<br />

American Legion Riders and<br />

the Blackhawks Motorcycle<br />

Club.<br />

He loved fishing, bird hunting,<br />

riding motorcycles, being<br />

a grandson, Garrett Logan<br />

Gronquist and two sisters, Tina<br />

Conn and Agnes Marie<br />

Gronquist, who died in infancy<br />

and a brother Jerome<br />

Gronquist.<br />

Funeral services will be held<br />

at 10:00 am, on Monday, June<br />

20, 2011 at the <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong><br />

United Methodist Church with<br />

Reverend Bob Whitaker officiating.<br />

Burial will be at<br />

Fairmont Cemetery in <strong>Blue</strong><br />

<strong>Rapids</strong>. Viewing will be from<br />

Noon until 8:00 pm, Sunday at<br />

Terry-Christie Funeral Home in<br />

<strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong> with visitation<br />

from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.<br />

Memorials are to be desig-<br />

lived near Lanham for 11 years,<br />

then near Hollenberg until Paul<br />

passed away.<br />

On November 11, 1963, she<br />

married Joe Schwartz of<br />

Hanover. He worked in construction<br />

so the next few years<br />

were spent living in various<br />

towns following his job. In<br />

January 1967 they settled down<br />

in Hanover.<br />

Margaret worked part time at<br />

Schwartz’s Store for several<br />

years. She enjoyed fishing,<br />

hunting Indian artifacts and<br />

mushroom hunting. She also<br />

enjoyed writing poems and stories<br />

for birthdays and anniversaries.<br />

She recycled, made<br />

many windsocks, liked riding<br />

horses, doing crossword puzzles<br />

and loved good bargains.<br />

Her pride and joy was riding<br />

her bicycle in the Days of ’49<br />

parades.<br />

She was a member of St.<br />

John’s Catholic Church, Altar<br />

Society, Label committee, and<br />

Kenneth L. Sells, Agent<br />

husband from JB Travel Club,<br />

she and Joe moved to Crescent<br />

Beach were she continued with<br />

canvas paintings and many<br />

other artistic endeavors . She<br />

was a beautiful loving person<br />

who touched the souls of many<br />

who knew her.<br />

Memorial Services will be<br />

Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St.<br />

Augustine Anastasia Catholic<br />

Church. Flowers are gratefully<br />

with his family and July 4th<br />

parties.<br />

Survivors include his three<br />

sons, Mike (Fanita) West,<br />

Wichita, Gary (Lucy) West,<br />

Marysville, and Bill (Allison)<br />

West, Gunnison, Colo.; three<br />

grandchildren, Eric West, Wade<br />

West and Megan Willoughby;<br />

four great-grandchildren,<br />

Rhaygen, Bryson, Payton<br />

Willoughby and Cooper West.<br />

He was preceded in death by<br />

25, 2010 at Marysville; and<br />

November 29, 1993; 2 infant<br />

children; son-in-law, Don<br />

Banahan; and four brothers,<br />

Floyd, Edwin, Clarence and<br />

Wilbur.<br />

A memorial fund has been<br />

established in her name to be<br />

designated at a later time.<br />
