WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR A<br />

NEW LICENCE?<br />

• Fully completed application form which should<br />

include your company stamp and signature.<br />

• Photocopy of your passport with valid<br />

residence visa.<br />

• Photocopy of your labour contract as issued by the<br />

Ministry of Laour.<br />

• Photocopy of your tenancy contract.<br />

• One passport photograph.<br />

• CID application fee of AED 150.*<br />

*Fee refundable on issue of licence as a voucher<br />

to spend at MMI worth AED 150.<br />

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO RENEW<br />

MY LICENCE?<br />

• Fully completed application form which should<br />

include your company stamp and signature.<br />

• Photocopy of your passport including valid<br />

residence visa. If you have changed your<br />

sponsorship, you will need a ‘no objection’<br />

letter from your new sponsor.<br />

• Photocopy of your tenancy contract.<br />

• Your expired card.<br />

• CID application fee of AED 150.*<br />

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS<br />

• Licences are valid for one year. We will alert you<br />

when your licence is due for renewal.<br />

• MMI will process your application, so you do not<br />

need to visit <strong>Dubai</strong> Police HQ.<br />

• The tenancy contract must be in the name of the<br />

applicant. If sharing accommodation, the lease<br />

holder must submit a letter of ‘no objection’ and<br />

provide their passport and tenancy contract copies.<br />

• If company accommodation is provided, a letter of<br />

‘no objection’ is required from the company.<br />

• Applicants sponsored by a free zone company<br />

must submit a salary certificate from that free<br />

zone, regardless of position.<br />

• A company signature and stamp is required on all<br />

application forms.<br />

• Married women wishing to share their husband’s<br />

licence must provide a photocopy of their<br />

passport including their valid residence permit<br />

along with a passport photograph.<br />

• Female applicants must be single and <strong>Dubai</strong><br />

residents.<br />

• Applicants with visas issued in other Emirates<br />

must get a ‘no objection’ letter from the<br />

respective Emirate’s CID.<br />
