Our tower crane tour starts out
on the Liebherr stand in E6,
The company is launching its
new modular range of flat top
Potain Igo 11
cranes, the ECB
series, with 13
variations ranging
from the 50 to 280m/t,
capacities range from
5,000 kg at 40 metres
on the 50EC-B6 to
6,000kgs at 60 metres
on the 130EC-B6.
The range has been designed
for fast simple erection with a
high level of interchangeable
parts between models. Accross

the road from Liebherr is the
Potain stand, with two top
slewers and two self erecting
cranes on display. The former
represented by the MD238A
from the Topkit line and from
the MDT line the MDT98.
The the two Igo self erecting
models are the Igo11 and the
new Igo22, which takes a
full 1,000kg to its maximum
radius of 28 metres. Doubleback
to aisle G in order to
find Raimondi, the company,
now merged with rental
company S.I.M.E, is launching
the new 240m/t MRT243 which
will take 2.2 tonnes out to a
75 metre radius. Also on the
stand will be the MRRT 213
and MRT84.
Near by in aisle F you will find
the most peculiar crane at the
show, the highly unusual Cobra
crane from Switzerland. The
crane features a two part
articulated jib and sliding
counterweight. The largest of
the two model range will lift
4,400kgs at 60 metres or
12 tonnes at 20 metres.
Now it is over to area five and
the Terex stand where Comedil
is showing the 120t/m CTT 121-5
flat top city crane and the self
erecting CBR 24H-2. To finnish
the tour, you should carry on
to area nine to see Spierings
truck mounted tower crane,
demonstrate its automatic
erection process. The genius
that designed this machine,
Leo Spierings will be on the
standto discuss his passion.
Then in hall 5a you will find
Zoom Lion, the Chinese tower
crane producer, with plans to
grow in Europe.
