Discover how, in partnership with Digital
DELIVERING AN INNOVATIVE, POINT-OF-CARE DATA COLLECTION
SYSTEM. AND BETTER LIVES FOR STROKE PATIENTS.
Stroke is currently the third most-common cause of death in
England and Wales and directly costs the NHS £2.8 billion
per year. Stroke audits such as Sentinel and SINAP provide a
critical analysis of the quality of stroke care, delivering key
insights into how patient care and outcomes could be
improved through service change.
Whilst clinical audits are of undoubted value, they do place a
heavy burden on stroke teams in terms of time spent
recording and collecting data. Much current practice means
that data quality is often compromised, due to significant
paper duplication and data being collected 'after the event',
rather than routinely at the point of care.CaptureStroke, an
online system developed by interaction-design specialists
Digital Spark, has been designed specifically to tackle this
challenge.
Coupled with the ruggedised CF-H1 Mobile Clinical Assistant,
it allows the entire stroke team to collect key audit data at
the point of care with confidence. As data is collected
routinely and sent to an NHS data centre using the CF-H1's
in-built WiFi, real-time insights into stroke care performance
against local CQUIN targets are instantly available through
highly visual dashboards. These insights enable stroke care
teams to rapidly improve service standards and ensure
patients receive the highest level of care possible.
CaptureStroke uses the CF-H1's barcode reader to allow
instant patient recognition. Combined with one-click data
recording for key assessments and a highly intuitive user
interface, developed in conjunction with clinicians over a
one-year period, capturing and reviewing data becomes
seamless and natural.
ABOUT TOUGHBOOK
Toughbook doesn't just lead the ruggedised computing
market, it defined it. Since our first model launched more
than a decade ago, Toughbooks have created their own niche
in the world of mobile technology, redefining the
possibilities of access to data and applications in the most
challenging of environments. The Toughbook CF-H1 MCA was
the first of its kind in the world with the high-performance
Intel ® Atom Processor Z540 and is designed to allow
nurses and physicians to access and document up-to-date
patient information at the point of care.
