had by all. Captain SyRack (I think that's the way he spelled it) of the MAV Dragonstorm won
the Honored Beach Bash Warrior Belt (First Place in the Warrior's Challenge as he did at Dover). A
small contingent from the MAV Dragonstorm (including General K'Tylo) attended the event. Everyone
on the ICV Heghnach did well in the Warrior Challenge, but XO Ksimka got first place in the Tribble
Toss, where I tied for/came in second place in several events. Congratulations, Colonel/Commander
Ksimka, on a job well done.
The Commander and XO of the ICV Heghnach (K'moghjIH & Ksimka) finally went on their honeymoon
from November 28th until December 9th. We had an excellent time at Walt Disney World Florida.
Many photos were taken and if you would like to see a sample of them or all of them, contact me in
a private message. I have distributed them to a few people already.
Klingon / STARFLEET Joint Operations Update
The ICV Heghnach/USS Inferno had informal meetings this month at Beach Bash. The commissioning
party was held with food and drink being provided, but unfortunately, the crew could not make it because
they needed to return to their own Region of space to continue patrol routes. A more formal
ceremony will be planned for a later date and sponsored by Admiral Rosenzweig. Carol Wivell, mother
of David Ferber and civilian member of the USS Inferno, attended her first convention ever when she
attended Beach Bash this year. She really enjoyed the Planet Hollywood Klingon Invasion and Great
Hall events. My sister, Saraka, is the House Ki'RK Vulcan Ambassador and she got married on Saturday
night in the Great Hall. I carried the USA National Colors under the direction of Captain Jorf in a
flag ceremony and death howl to honor the crew of the IKV Kahless' Revenge.
The ICV Heghnach/USS Inferno will have their Command Staff meeting on Saturday, December 27th.
The official commissioning paperwork is being completed again and the party is being planned for a
later date, sponsored by Admiral Rosenzweig.
Fundraising Idea
After showing my Ship's Log to several members of the House Ki'RK (a scrapbook of sorts showing
crew roster & accomplishments, ship activities and accomplishments, newsletters, community service,
etc.), an idea came up to possibly try and hold fundraisers to sponsor a trip to Beach Bash for our disabled
crewmembers that have never been to a convention or interacted with Klingons live (namely our
Fort Fairfield member). I would like opinions from the ENTIRE crew on this matter. I also would like to
hear from some of our recently silent crewmembers. Let me know that you are getting this newsletter /
monthly report or have anything to add.
POP TAB CHALLENGE
The other thing that I kept forgetting to report was the House Ki'RK pop tab collection for charity that we
do. According to the Ronald McDonald House, "one pound of pop tabs is worth $.04 more than one
pound of pop cans. Depending on the present value of aluminum, the value from pop tabs averages 50
cents to 55 cents per pound. There are approximately 1,300 tabs in a pound. The Ronald McDonald
House currently raises $500 a month from the recycling of pop tabs. This amount could easily double
or triple if everyone who reads this article starts to recycle.” If we spread the word that we are doing
this, we could easily increase the amount that the House Ki'RK raises. Please give your pop tabs to
any House Ki'RK warrior, so that we can increase this fundraising effort. The Challenge has been issued
by Quadrant Commander K'Hergh for each quadrant to collect as many tabs as possible. K'Hergh
and I would like to see the Ohio-PA Quadrant reign supreme in the amount of tabs collected.
