Admiral Tom Donohoe - Vice Coordinator
Greetings Maquis,
BADLANDS
A lot of things have happened since our last newsletter. We
have a new Academy Commandant Samuel Cummings. He has
taken the reigns of the Academy and I look forward to great
things from him. The Academy automation is still being worked
on, if you have any concerns regarding any exams you have
taken or automation please drop Commodore Cummings or myself
a line.
Technology is a wonderful thing and these days I am amazed at
everything that has progressed so far in such a short period of
time. When I was a kid all phones had a cord, now there are cellular
phones. I was the remote control for our family television,
which wasn’t always a color TV, nor was it portable! If someone
said they were going to “nuke” a meal, someone blew a Civil Defense
Siren and everyone got under tables.
With all these advancements in the world it’s a shame that people
seem to change so slowly. There is discord in the Middle East.
Terrorists and their organizations are doing their best to disrupt the peaceful people of the world, not
only here in the USA, but everywhere in the world and even their own countrymen are not safe from
the evil they cause.
I for one am glad by the example that Maquis Forces International sets as an organization, we are a
diverse group of people from all over the world, and we get along and we are friends. We go to events
together and have fun. We give to the needy and help out the underprivileged.
I am proud to call myself Maquis and all of you my friends.
