This chapter discusses the installation procedures for the <strong>PBS</strong> binary distribution package.<br />
If you intend to install from the source code package, you should skip this chapter <strong>and</strong><br />
read Chapter 5 “Installation from Source” on page 23.<br />
4.1 Overview<br />
The <strong>PBS</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware can be installed from the <strong>PBS</strong> CD-ROM or downloaded from the <strong>PBS</strong><br />
website. The installation procedure is slightly different depending on the distribution<br />
source. However, the basic steps <strong>of</strong> <strong>PBS</strong> installation are:<br />
4.2 Media Setup<br />
Step 1 Prepare distribution media<br />
Step 2 Extract <strong>and</strong> install the s<strong>of</strong>tware<br />
Step 3 Acquire a <strong>PBS</strong> license<br />
