Permit and a current inspection report and provide you with current copies <strong>of</strong> both<br />

documents to maintain in your records.<br />

LAUNDRY<br />

• Must be separate <strong>from</strong> child care areas.<br />

• Must contain covered storage for soiled linens.<br />

Note: Children cannot pass through kitchens or laundry areas to reach o<strong>the</strong>r parts<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> facility or playground.<br />

BUILDING SAFETY AND REPAIR<br />

• Walls, floors and ceilings should not have holes, cracks or tears,<br />

chipping paint, peeling wallpaper, or sharp edges.<br />

• Carpeting and vinyl must be pulled tightly and <strong>the</strong> seams secured to avoid<br />

any hazards, such as tripping.<br />

• Screens, guards or o<strong>the</strong>r types <strong>of</strong> barriers must protect any type <strong>of</strong> heating or<br />

cooling equipment accessible to children. Screens should not get hot to <strong>the</strong><br />

touch.<br />

• It is important to develop a system <strong>of</strong> maintaining <strong>the</strong> building in good<br />

repair.
