Yellow Ribbon Charity Run to Monterey
The Orange County and Grand Prix Regions have joined forces to put together two tours to this year’s Monterey Historics
event. One is leaving on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, and the other tour is leaving on Thursday, August 12, 2004. Both
tours will depart McKenna Porsche in Norwalk in the morning.
The tours will head through Santa Monica, up the coast, into Santa Barbara, which is a lunch stop, San Luis Obispo and on up
Hwy 1 into Monterey.
The Monterey Bay Region is hosting a welcome dinner on Friday night, August 13, 2004. A Porsche only parking corral is
available on Saturday and Sunday.
The “yellow ribbon,” runs benefit the children of Marines who gave their lives serving our country. There is NO REGISTRATION
FEE for the drive. This is a 100% Charity Run. Please register at www.yellowribbonrun.com and purchase tickets for all
venues by visiting the Monterey Bay Region web site at http://mby.pca.org
We invite all other regions to join us on the way. There will be assigned “pick up spots,” along the route where members can
join the caravan the day of the tour.
Those interested in joining can either contact Paul Fiala (Grand Prix Region) at porsche03cab@aol.com or myself, Armand
Gastelo PCA/OCR Activities Director at agastelo@hotmail.com
Editor’s Note: According to Paul Fiala this event is open to all car clubs and all cars. He had called me for suggestions as to a
lgood meeting place for those in San Luis Who would like to participate. My suggestion was the Cuesta College parking lot
next to Hwy 1. Their esitmate time of arrival is 3 pm on bith days. Contact them if you are interested in participating.
