President’s Message
October 2009 COASTALAIRE
In This Issue
October will bring the CCCR/PCA three separate
events. The NewMember BBQ will be held on Saturday the
3rd. at EOS winery along with a gimmick rally. The new
member BBQ is historically the best attended event of the
year bringing new and seasoned members all together.
On the 18th the CCCR will go western , traveling to
beautiful Santa Ynez for the “City Slickers” featuring trail
ride tours, BBQ lunch and theatrical play and whatever Jeff
Blucher and company can dream up. The event is limited to
30 participants, so don’t wait, call Jeff with your reservation.
Then if the above is not enough we finish up the
month with the “Concours At The Coast” starting on the
22nd and running thru the 25th. Chairperson, Alyce Thorp
at last report has received several entries from within the
CCCR and throughout the zone. By all indications this will
be our finest hour . As the featured marque we have the
opportunity to showcase our region to both the zone and
our community. In an earlier message, Alyce said that the
national concourse winner from the 2009 Keystone Parade
will be in attendance with both his car and trophy. There
also was mention that possibly a new “Panamera” may find
its way to the coast.
Please feel free to step up by volunteering your help ,
entering you car and of course any and all contributions of
support will be appreciated. To quote Al Sharpton: “There’s
no Nation like a Donation.
Finally Jon Milledge and Martin Howell have agreed
to gather a list of candidates to be presented to the
membership for election to the board of directors for 2010.
Serving on the board or one of it’s various committees is
very rewarding and is a much appreciated service to our
general membership.
As I have always maintained, “ Participation is The
Price of Membership “.

1969 Monte Carlo Rally. Porsche’s lowest priced car, it has 4-speed all synchromesh transmission,
and is also available with 5-speed, or “Sportomatic” as options. The high performance car has two
triple-throat Zenith carburetors; thermostatically controlled oil cooler especially good for high
speeds; two batteries; 142 hp engine with 128 mph top and cruising speed.
