Dr. Gary Arendash is an<br />

applications. Dr. Arendash<br />

has studied Alzheimerʼs<br />

disease and the aging brain<br />

for almost 30 years. He is an<br />

expert ont he role of nutrients<br />

in preventing and treating<br />

therapeutics to enhance<br />

publications include<br />

beneficial effects of<br />

caffeine/coffee, melatonin,<br />

Professor of Neuroscience at the<br />

Research Professor of the Florida Alzehimer’s<br />

Disease Research Center, on the topic:<br />

“Protecting the Aging Brain: Focus on<br />

Nutrition and Mind/Body Health”*<br />

* “Protecting the Aging Brain: Focus on Nutrition<br />

and Mind/Body Health” will cover the following:<br />

A) Background information and normal brain<br />

aging B) Alzheimer’s disease, C) Nutritional and<br />

life choices you should be making to protect your<br />

brain, D) Medical therapeutics, E) The brain and<br />

heart relationship regarding nutrition and<br />

exercise<br />

* Participants completing this seminar should be<br />

able to describe: What happens to the brain as it<br />

ages; What are the behavioral and<br />

neuropathologic changes that occur; What<br />

nutritional and lifestyle choices should be made<br />

to protect the brain against memory<br />

impairment/Alzheimer’s.<br />
