PLEASE use the Website if you are ‘on line’. Changes to calendars, rallies and events will<br />
be published, as well as other interesting and other important information which is<br />
constantly updated. Programmes will be published on the website at the beginning of<br />
February, May and October. If you do not have web access then please write to Karen<br />
Punter – Secretary who will send you copies as they become available.<br />
Email addresses – Please ensure you inform Karen Punter and Karen Eastlake if you<br />
change your email address. You should be receiving frequent updates via email,<br />
please contact Karen Punter if you are not getting them.<br />

their behalf accept any liability for loss, damage, accident, injury, illness to horses,<br />
riders, spectators, or any other persons or property whatsoever.<br />
HEALTH & SAFETY DISCLAIMER<br />
The Organisers of any rallies and events have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure<br />
the health and safety of everyone present. For the measures to be effective, everyone<br />
must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must<br />
obey the instructions of the Organisers and Officials.
RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />
SUBSCRIPTIONS are due by 31 January <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
PONY CLUB INSURANCE only covers paid up members.<br />
Please send subscriptions to Mrs Eastlake and not to the DC or Sec.<br />
Subscriptions are: £58 per member, or<br />
£145 for a family of three or more children<br />
£3.00 Branch postage/admin.<br />
£5 extra on ALL late subscriptions<br />
Please sign the Gift Aid Form– it gives us income but costs you nothing.<br />
RALLIES<br />
You must attend at least two <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> functions between Aug 2012 and June <strong>2013</strong> in order to<br />
qualify for the Instructional Week. Please apply for rallies at least 5 days in advance, and<br />
inform the organiser if unable to attend. Payment MUST be made if you cancel with less<br />
than 48 hours notice. Rallies do need booking please do not assume you have a space until the<br />
organiser has confirmed!<br />
Check the website and/or telephone the organiser if the weather is doubtful<br />
Ages are guidelines only, everyone is welcome.<br />
Please DO NOT be late for rallies, it is very disruptive for the rest of the group.<br />
DRESS<br />
Hats are compulsory for all <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> activities.<br />
They must carry one of the following Kite Marks: PAS 015 1998 or EN 1384 1996 + BSI, SNELL<br />
E2001 or SAI Global Hats will be checked at rallies for kite marks and fit and then tagged. A<br />
jockey scull cap with NO fixed peak and correct kite marks MUST be used for cross<br />
country.<br />
Covers should be black or dark blue<br />
NB If you have a fall, your hat must be checked for any damage and if necessary replaced.<br />
IF YOU DO NOT REPLACE YOUR HAT AFTER A BAD FALL YOU WILL NOT BE COVERED BY PONY<br />
CLUB INSURANCE<br />
Body protectors must be worn for all Cross Country, practices and competitions. Wearing<br />
them at other times is advisable.<br />
A BETA Standard Body Protector Level 3 (Purple label) is recommended<br />
The Protectors must fit comfortably and not restrict movement. If an Air Jacket is worn<br />
then it must be worn over a standard body protector.<br />
Medical Armbands MUST be worn for all Cross Country Competitions, these are<br />
available from the Secretary or DC and cost £5 each, should you require a replacement paper<br />
insert these are 50p each.<br />
Dress code for rallies and competitions<br />
Rallies: light coloured jodhpurs, tweed hacking jacket or dark blue sweatshirt, with long or short-<br />
sleeved shirt (Must be long sleeves for Cross Country and Show Jumping), <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> tie or a<br />
coloured stock, and a correct Kite Marked Hat. Proper Jodhpur boots with a heel and half chaps or<br />
riding boots. Gloves are advisable. Long hair MUST be tied up neatly above your collar and in a hair<br />
net.<br />
Competitions: As above with tweed hacking jacket etc for Dressage and Show Jumping,<br />
sweatshirt and body protector and medical armband for cross-country.<br />
Spurs may only be worn by holders of the B test or with the DC’s written permission.
DISCIPLINES If you are interested in taking part in any of the disciplines below, whether as part<br />
of a team or as an individual, please contact the relevant manager who will let you know about<br />
forthcoming dates. Please remember EVERYONE IS WELCOME whatever their experience – just<br />
fill in team application form (they can be downloaded from the website) giving details of you, your<br />
pony and your age and experience and send it to the relevant manager (one form for each discipline).<br />
RULE BOOKS The <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> produces books for all disciplines, they cost £3 and can be<br />
purchased from <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> Headquarters, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 2RW. Also<br />
available on line at www.pcuk.org or from the <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> stand at Badminton Horse Trials.<br />

PARENT SUPPORT – PLEASE READ<br />
Competitions and Rallies take a huge amount of organisation, not to mention man power. We<br />
would like every family to help on at least one occasion at one of the competitions organized by<br />
the <strong>Beaufort</strong> <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> this year. We also expect parents to help at whichever camp their child<br />
attends.<br />
PONY RACING<br />
The successful series of <strong>Pony</strong> Races is running again this year for 14.2hh and 13.2hh ponies. Mr<br />
Tim Cox who has ridden and trained point to pointers has kindly volunteered to train any of you<br />
who are interested, to get you and your pony fit. Please send your name to the DC if you are<br />
interested.<br />
THE SECOND HAND RIDING CLOTHES AND TACK STALL is run during Junior Camp<br />
Week. Items can be brought to camp clearly labeled with your name, item description and price.<br />
10% will go to pony club funds. Items remaining and monies owed must be collected on the last<br />
day; items not collected will be donated to charity. Riding Clothes and Tack only, CLEAN,<br />
CLEARLY Marked and in good safe condition. DUE TO HEALTH & SAFETY WILL CANNOT SELL<br />
DIRTY RUGS OR OTHER ITEMS. Please note we are not able to sell riding hats. Items taken at<br />
the Owner’s Risk.<br />

advert results in a sale then a small donation to pony club funds is appreciated. You may<br />
advertise horses, ponies, saddlery and riding wear (with the exception of riding hats).<br />

PASSPORTS<br />
Remember it is now a legal requirement to have a passport for your pony and to carry it whenever<br />
travelling your pony. The police can ask to check them at any time.<br />
VACCINATIONS<br />
The <strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> strongly recommends that your pony is vaccinated against Equine Influenza if you<br />
intend to compete or attend Residential Camp. Some competition venues and also Area Comps<br />
and Championships insist that vaccinations are up to date and will expect to see the relevant<br />
documentation.
