are dispersed into receiving <strong>water</strong>s.” Chronic numeric<br />

targets apply to portions <strong>of</strong> the <strong>water</strong> body outside mix-<br />

ing zones. Canadian <strong>water</strong>-<strong>quality</strong> guidelines for 12 pesticides<br />

were established to protect species <strong>of</strong> aquatic life.<br />

Ecological data were summarized <strong>and</strong> compared<br />

with surface-<strong>water</strong> <strong>quality</strong> data. Water <strong>quality</strong> (app. 4),<br />

quantitative habitat (app. 5) <strong>and</strong> qualitative habitat data<br />

(app. 6 <strong>and</strong> 7) used for the statistical analyses are<br />

included in this report. When appropriate, log <strong>and</strong><br />

square-root transformations <strong>of</strong> <strong>water</strong>-<strong>quality</strong> <strong>and</strong> habitat<br />

data <strong>and</strong> natural log transformations <strong>of</strong> aquatic inverte-
