West Region is an area relatively rich in natural resources, and that lead in time to strong
economic development, occupying a high position among the most developed regions of the
country. The positive evolution of the region economy is determined by a balanced
distribution of economic sectors.
In what regards the rural space, this is characterized in terms of population with a low
population density, demographic decline due to migration and aging population, mortality
rate relatively highlow and a low capacity of demographic renewal as a negative natural
population growth.

Profitability expresses the efficiency of financial and material resources invested in the
overall activity of a company. Profitability reflects the final economic efficiency of the
whole economic-financial activity.
The key to a company’s profitability is profit, which in its various forms is taken into
consideration when determining profitability rates.
In order to express profitability, we use two synthetic indicators, namely: profit and
profitability rate.
Economic efficiency is a structural, qualitative concept which relates economic-financial
efforts to effects, aiming at increasing decision.
