The study analyzes the impact of the crisis on the small and medium enterprises from
Romania during 2008 – 2010.
In the study we analyze:
- The situation of the small and medium enterprise sector at national level during 2008 –
2010;
- The major problems of this sector and of the Romanian business people, their concerns.

Situated in the Western part of Romania, the microregion Timiş-Torontal gathers 3 small
towns and 11 localities with the rank of communes. Due to its geographical establishment
in the county and having a border with Serbia, it offers beneficial conditions for the
economical development. The agriculture is a cornerstone of the microregion because it
owns a good and very good qualitative terrain, with climacteric conditions beneficial to its
development. In the present paper, the authors set themselves to study the level of the
microregion's economy and the possibilities of its development so that it ensures an
equitable level for its inhabitants.
