4.6 Determining the amount of learning completed at<br />

a <strong>Queensland</strong> school<br />

A young person transfers in semester 1 Year 11<br />

If the young person transfers to a school during semester 1 Year 11, the principal of the<br />

receiving school will determine if they should be enrolled in the remainder of first semester<br />

Year 11. The principal or their nominee should:<br />

• negotiate a program of study that considers post-school pathway options, and if<br />

applicable the certification requirements of the <strong>QCE</strong><br />

• enrol the candidate in a program of study for the remainder of first semester Year 11<br />

• determine the outstanding assessment requirements for each subject enrolment.<br />

In this instance, the candidate will be deemed to have completed semester 1 of Year 11 at<br />

a <strong>Queensland</strong> school. Achievement in partially complete school studies at the previous<br />

school/s are not recorded in the learning account.<br />

A young person transfers in semester 2 Year 11 or semester 1<br />

Year 12<br />

If the young person transfers to a school and the principal has determined that they should<br />

be enrolled in semester 2 Year 11 or semester 1 Year 12, the principal or their nominee<br />

should:<br />

• negotiate a program of study that considers post-school pathway options, and if<br />

applicable, the certification requirements of the <strong>QCE</strong><br />

• enrol the young person in a program of study for the remainder of the semester<br />

• determine assessment requirements in each subject in which the young person enrols<br />

for the remainder of the semester.<br />

In this instance, the candidate will be deemed to have completed semester 2 Year 11 or<br />

semester 1 Year 12, whichever is applicable, at a <strong>Queensland</strong> school. Achievement in<br />

complete or partially complete school studies at the previous school/s can be recorded in<br />

the learning account subject to a successful application for credit transfer.<br />

A young person transfers in semester 2 Year 12<br />

If the young person transfers to a school during semester 2 of Year 12, the principal or their<br />

nominee should:<br />

• negotiate a program of study that considers post-school pathway options, and if<br />

applicable the certification requirements of the <strong>QCE</strong><br />

• enrol the young person in a program of study for the remainder of the semester<br />

• determine assessment requirements in each subject in which the young person enrols<br />

for the remainder of the semester.<br />

In this instance, the candidate will be deemed to have completed semester 2 Year 12 at a<br />

<strong>Queensland</strong> school. Achievement in complete or partially complete school studies at the<br />

previous school/s can be recorded in the learning account, subject to a successful<br />

application for credit transfer.<br />
