Local Governance Report – December 2010<br />
December 2010<br />
1. On 10 December, District Administrator as the chairman of the board of District<br />
Projects Coordination Unit under UN Agencies‟ COMPASIS-Project; organized a<br />
coordination meeting to launch community based projects in the district. The meeting<br />
was attended by more than 50 representatives from district level offices of line<br />
ministries; sub-district Administrators of project area (Letefoho and Atsabe), related<br />
Suco Chiefs, staff of UN Agencies, national internationals Agencies, district UNPOL,<br />
district PNTL officials, and youth representatives of Ermera district.<br />
2. On 17 December, the deputy District Administrator attended a seminar on promotion<br />
of cultures of Timor-Leste organized by NGO Hametin Demokrasia no Igualdade<br />
(Strengthening Democracy and Equality). The seminar was attended by 80<br />
participants including representatives of Secretary of State of Culture, district PNTL,<br />
Suco Chiefs, local NGOs and students.<br />
3. On 17 December, the District Administrator attended a coordination meeting in Dili,<br />
together with the 13 District Administrators and Directors of ministries. The meeting<br />
discussed the annual reports of all ministries.<br />
4. On 18 December, District Administrator attended a coordination meeting with district<br />
staff and contractors. In the meeting, the Association of enterprises Timor-Leste<br />
(ASSET) presented the annual report of 2010.<br />
5. From 27–29 December 2010, the District Administrator attended the Suco Annual<br />
meeting 2010 in Dili. The meeting was focused on Suco Chiefs and their important<br />
roles in the local development activities particularly local projects.<br />
