Local Governance Report – December 2010
1. On 04 December, the member of National Parliament Romeo Moises and the
Secretary General of CNRT party Deonisio visited Suco Lupal in Lolotoe sub district.
The objective of the visit was to consolidate and strengthen the CNRT party structure
at sub-district and Suco level.
2. On 10 December, Director of SoS for the Promotion of Equality (SEPI) Armando da
Costa and from CSC Olandino Cairo organized community dialog on the 16 days
campaign on the elimination of violence against women at Batu-Gede in Balibo subdistrict.
Participants to this public event were district staff, community leaders, civil
society, women and youth groups and delegation from Belun-Indonesia.
3. On 11 December, the President Jose Ramos Horta accompanied by Commander
General of PNTL Longinous Monteiro visited Suco Rairobo in Atabae sub-district.
The purpose of the visit was to encourage the work of PNTL and communities in rural
area and to provide humanitarian support to the poor people in the sub-district.
4. On 11 December, SoS of Energy Policy, Avelino Coelho who is also the president of
PST party, visited Suco Molop in Bobonaro sub district. Objective of the visit was to
consolidate and strengthen PST party structure at sub-district and Suco level.
