The Steamboat Springs <strong>Arts</strong> Council is hosting an International Teapot Show<br />
featuring 36 ceramic artists and 86 teapots from across the United States, British<br />
Columbia and the United Kingdom. Potters Council Member and Curator Deb<br />
Babcock selected artists based upon style, geographic region, and craftsmanship.<br />
The show includes long-time, well-known artists such as Elaine Coleman, Tom<br />
Coleman, Sylvie Granatelli, Tim See, Sarah Jaeger, and Sandi Pierantozzi, as<br />
well as emerging artists, some of whom are exhibiting for the first time. Teapots<br />
may be seen and purchased online at www.steamboatspringsarts.com. The show<br />
opened December 5 and runs through the end of January <strong>2009</strong>.<br />

Art with Heart: Artists Aiding a Community will have an opening celebration<br />

The Hui No’eau Visual <strong>Arts</strong> Center has invited Marcia Selsor to teach a Raku/<br />
Saggar firing class for beginning to advanced students. Participants will create<br />
several pieces for two specific low-fire techniques. Saggar firing will explore<br />
surfaces etched by native combustibles, salts and copper. The Raku firing will<br />
emphasize glaze resist techniques including latex and tapes, firing and postfiring<br />

The Hui No’eau Visual <strong>Arts</strong> Center has invited Marcia Selsor to teach Creating<br />
Large Forms with Tar Paper, Tubes and Slumping for beginning to advanced<br />
students. Participants will design and build a tarpaper form, drape slabs over it<br />
and potentially add tube shapes, i.e. a stem, or column or possibly a slumped<br />
bowl for a bird bath addition. Possible forms could be containers, planters,<br />
