p_ 14 dbdh in RussiA RoAd shows in RussiA by thE RussiAn-dAnish tEAm 2009 2009 was exciting and busy for the russian-Danish team rooted in DBDH – when the team continued sector Visits in the Volga area. More than 1/3 of the DBDH members are actively doing business in russia, either they have build up own production, entered into joint ventures or are dealing through local distributors. these companies have joined forces anchored in DBDH, and back in 2007 made the decision to arrange at least 2 big events yearly under the headline “Danish District Heating sector Visits”. together with locally represented Danish industries, we have built up a strong team, which have planned the strategy and the program. project manager svetlana chernova, royal Danish embassy in Moscow and commercial counselor Klaus sørensen, Danish consulate general in st. petersburg have also taken great part in this work. the Danish ambassador Mr. per carlsen, by the way speaking fluently russian, has supported our conferences and exhibitions in russia all the way and opened many a door for the russian- Danish team. in addition we have had the valuable support from the Danish energy Agency by senior policy Advisor Mr. Anders Hasselager who has opened the seminars “energy savings and energy efficiency” by giving an insight to the remarkable results in Denmark . we thank both Mr. carlsen and Mr. Hasselager for their sincere engagement in the work of our team. in 2008, the team went to perm, izhevsk, samara and saratov, and in 2009, we continued the road shows of the Volga region. D B D H | A n n u A l R e p o R t 2 0 0 9 spring: sector visits to nizhny novgorod and yaroslavl nizhny novgorod is the capital of the Volga district and apart from being the third largest city of russia, it is also one of the oldest, founded in 1221. yaroslavl city is part of the “golden ring” around Moscow and will celebrate its 1000 year jubilee in 2010. these two major historic cities were the goals of an April visit. the “russian-Danish conference on energy savings and energy efficiency” was opened at the president Hall of nizhny novgorod Fair under much attention from the district heating and industry sector, tV, and newspaper Medias. the conference was divided into two parts, a ”concept seminar” addressing the political level, and a ”technical seminar” aimed at design institutes and the technical level of the district heating sector focusing on the technique behind the results in Denmark. the conference also included round table meetings with the district heating sector in nizhny novgorod to discuss the topics the region is facing today and how we can cooperate on future projects. A 9-hour long train trip through the russian landscape brought the delegation to yaroslavl, ready for the second part of the Danish District Heating sector visits. As in nizhny novgorod, an important part of the conference in yaroslavl was the round table meetings. Many people within the district heating sector showed up to take part in the discussions of possible russian-Danish pilot projects. A representative from the Danish Ministry of climate and energy, Ms. oxana chueva, presented possibilities for financing large energy projects by Joint implementation. At present Denmark is involved in 6 projects of such kind in russia.
RussIAn-DAnIsH TeAM DuRInG DBDH evenTs 2009 ApV, Aalborg engineering, Broen, Danfoss, Flowcon, grontmij|carl Bro, grundfos, Kamstrup, logstor, oKr cleaning, ramboll. Deputy governor of yaroslavl, Mr. Andrey V. yapaneshnikov, at- tended the last part of the round table meetings, and confirmed the interest in entering into cooperation with the Danish side. “we lack the money to invest in energy saving projects, however if we do invest – then we will get money. so we need to start turning the view of presenting the problem” said mr. yapaneshnikov. First step will be the signing of the letter of intent, followed by the establishment of a working group with suppliers, designers, and consultants. Autumn: In november the DBDH team went to orenburg & chelyabinsk connected with a full one-day stop-over in Moscow to meet Jsc “e4 group”. e4 group comprises the leading russian engineering and other industry-related companies. general Director of “e4 group” Danil nikitin said in his opening remarks “i am confident that partnership with Danish companies will contribute to the successful implementation of large-scale state energy saving programs. the Kingdom of Denmark is absolutely correctly called the Kingdom of energy efficiency”. All present Danish companies made a comprehensive presentation of their company and their technologies including a fruitful Q & A session after each presentation. From Moscow the delegation continued to orenburg for a two- day program including conference and round table meetings . More than 150 guests participated in the event, among them the governor of orenburg region, Mr. sumin, who opened the conference and mentioned that Denmark is one of the countries to which orenburg region look for inspiration when implementing new energy efficient solutions. other participants were representatives from government and Municipal level, district heating companies and enterprises in the dh sector. During round table meetings, topics of interest were energy planning and the Danish model of cooperative ownership. From orenburg the delegation continued to chelyabinsk, some 700 km northeast through the ural Mountains. the visit coincided with the annual speech of president Medvedev in which he had called for a more efficient use of energy resources, as well as the development of alternative energies. chelyabinsk region has adopted several programs on energy efficiency in the region in which also Danish companies have been part. Metering systems and exchanging of the pipe systems are important priorities. russian edition of Hot/cool was also published in 2009. the magazine is sent free of charge to all our contacts in russian speaking countries and is being distributed during road shows and visits in this part of the world. Furthermore delegations visiting Denmark has enjoyed reading it too. Foreword is by russian Ambassador t.o. ramishvili, who mentions the huge potential of russia for energy savings – 40-50% of the current consumption. this calls for continued cooperation between russian and Danish businesses in the energy sector. other articles of the magazine present case stories and state-of-the art solutions and technologies. guest-editor-of-chief of the magazine was energy planner Mr. Anders Dyrelund, rambøll. A busy year, many new business relations, and indeed many superior impressions. we look very much forward to continuously doing road shows in this part of the world. in the coming year we will go even more to the east, more precisely to Krasnoyarsk, irkutsk, novosibirsk and omsk. w w w .
