USING ICS TO MANAGE SPECIAL EVENTS
MULTIAGENCY COORDINATION SYSTEMS (CONT.)
The process of moving the responsibility for incident command from one Incident Commander to another
is called transfer of command.
If a transfer of command is required, the initial Incident Commander will remain in charge until the transfer
is accomplished.
Command may transfer to more qualified or more experienced personnel from the same agency, or to the
employee of another responsible agency.
