The new Air <strong>Force</strong> PLAYpass Program is here to provide<br />

deployed/affected Single Airmen and Air <strong>Force</strong> Families respite from<br />

the challenges of deployment, in a continuing effort to build an allaround<br />

resilient force. PLAYpass offers discount cards providing<br />

military members and their eligible family members the opportunity<br />

to participate in <strong>Force</strong> <strong>Support</strong> <strong>Squadron</strong> programs either for FREE<br />

or at a reduced cost. All Armed <strong>Force</strong>s personnel stationed at<br />

Airman's Attic<br />

Needs Volunteers<br />

The Airman's Attic is an on-base<br />

donation center designed to<br />

help defray the cost of setting up<br />

a home. This unique program<br />

targets junior ranking members<br />

(E6 & below) of all military<br />

branches. The Airman's Attic<br />

is located on Inverness Road<br />

in Bldg. 594, and is managed<br />

by retired CMSgt Bob White.<br />

Last month alone, Airman's<br />

Attic volunteers served 589<br />

customers—that's 53 customers<br />

per day! During this high<br />

PCS season, there is a greater<br />

demand for volunteer support.<br />

The Airman’s Attic needs you!<br />

Typically, volunteers welcome,<br />

register and assist customers. In<br />

addition, they may help unload,<br />

sort, and stock donated items.<br />

The Airman’s Attic is open<br />

Monday, Sep. 12. Trip begins at<br />

7:30 p.m. Leisurely paddle your<br />

choice of canoe or kayak to our<br />

local secluded beach. It's a great<br />

opportunity for newcomers and<br />

locals alike, and no experience is<br />

necessary. Cost is $10 for a single<br />

kayak, or $20 for a double kayak<br />

"Destination: Dining"<br />

Enjoy a relaxing night of<br />

waterfront dining, arriving and<br />

pontoon boat cruise to and<br />

from local dockside restaurants.<br />

Climb aboard at Postl Point for<br />

16 to Dockside Café & Oyster<br />

Baggo Tournament! Baggo is an<br />

competitive game of bean bag<br />

to horseshoes—but with a hole<br />

instead of a post! Tournament<br />

format will be a 14-team doubles<br />

elimination and will take place<br />

at Postl Point on Sep. 24 from 10<br />

a.m.-3 p.m. Water, hamburgers<br />

and a prize will be presented to<br />

Tournament<br />

Canoe & Kayak Intro<br />

<strong>Eglin</strong> Outdoor Rec hosts a brief<br />

introductory course on paddling<br />

a canoe and a "sit on top" kayak<br />

on Saturdays from 9-11 a.m.<br />

at Postl Point. Students are<br />

presented with basic information<br />

on boat control, paddling<br />

apparel, potential hazards and<br />

simple rescues. An entry level of<br />

paddling skills is presented and<br />

practiced, allowing students to<br />

safely and effectively maneuver<br />

on flat-water. Cost is $5 per<br />

person. Please call to verify the<br />

Hands-On Boater<br />

Safety Course<br />

A hands-on boater safety course<br />

is offered at Postl Point at<br />

select times, Thursday through<br />

Sunday. With focus on hands-on<br />

learning, the course provides<br />

the confidence and skills needed<br />

to operate the ski boats and<br />

pontoon boats available for rent<br />

from Outdoor Rec. All training<br />

materials and equipment are<br />

provided and a Boater Safety<br />

Card is issued to all participants<br />

upon completion. Cost is only<br />

$25 per person. Class size is<br />

limited to 8 participants. Call<br />

Postl Point. Indoor storage and<br />

outdoor wet or dry storage are<br />

racks, maintenance racks, and<br />
