The basewide Spring Parking Lot
Sale is scheduled for 7 a.m. on April
4. Everyone authorized access to
the base is invited to come out and
shop or sell. Space is FREE and no
reservation is required. There’s always
a large selection of “treasures” for
sale – children’s items, electronics,
collections of all sorts, media, books,
sports equipment, home accessories,
furniture, kitchen items and much
more. The sale will also feature NAF
property items from Eglin's Outdoor
Recreation program. Come out and
earn some extra cash, or shop 'til you
drop! Event is held in the grassy fields
between the tennis courts and former

Camp Registration
Summer Camp starts Monday,
June 8. Priority 1 registration is
Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2
p.m. on April 7-9, 14-16, 21-23 or
by appointment. Priority 1 includes
single military, single DoD civilian
employees, dual military, dual DoD
civilian employees, and military with
a DoD spouse. Single is defined as
living alone with no other adult in
household and DoD includes AAFES,
NAF or GS employees who work
on Eglin. Priority 2 registration is
Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2
p.m. on May 5-9, 12-15, and 19-22 or
by appointment. Priority 2 includes
military or DoD civilian employees
with employed non-DoD spouse or
full time student assigned to Eglin.
All other priorities register beginning
May 26 until spaces are filled. All
paperwork requirements must be
completed and a deposit is required
and is payable upon registration. Call

Oil Changing Class
Starting May 11, a beginner's oil
changing class will be taught at
the Eglin Auto Shop on the second
Monday of the month from Noon
to 1 p.m. After instruction and
demonstration, each student will
complete an oil change on their
own vehicle. There is no cost for
instruction and assistance, only the
cost of materials. This is a perfect
opportunity for spouses of deployed
military to learn valuable new auto
skills. Class size is limited to 5

Registration is now open for Eglin's
24th Annual Gate-to-Gate Run/Walk,
a traditional 4.4 mile race on May 25.
Start time is 7:30 a.m. This event is
open to the public, but limited to 2,000
race participants. Pre-registration is
required by May 23. Race packets
may be picked up at the following
times: May 9, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the
Eglin Main Base Exchange (BX); May
13-14, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Fitness
Center; May 23, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at
Santa Rosa Mall's Main Entrance;
and on race day, 5:30-7 a.m. at Unity
Park. Immediately following the race,
everyone is invited to enjoy live music
with FREE food and beverages at
the Gate-to-Gate After Party! Plus, a
FREE Fun Run (1/2 and 1-mile) for
kids ages 5-13 will begin at 9 a.m.

Art Rocks! Camp for Kids
The stage is set for rock artists
everywhere! Art Rocks combines
fun music and energetic art for a
wildly creative adventure. Campers
will make musical instruments,
learn about rhythm and create some
music of their own! They’ll design
a poster promoting a concert, as
well as a unique label for a new
CD. These rock artists will create
their own rock art, design mystifying
paintings to music and try their hand
at melodic action painting. So come

Air Force Introduces Island Lake
Summer Camp Opportunity
Looking for a summer camp opportunity for youth
entering grades 3 through 8? Consider having your
youth apply for one of five chances for Air Force youth
to attend Island Lake Camp, Aug. 4-17, located in the
Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Camp tuition is
being provided at no-cost through a generous offer
from the Island Lake Camp owners who wish to support
military families by providing each of the services
branches free spaces at the camp. Parents are
responsible for transportation either to/from the camp
or one of the bus pickup points - Queens, NY; Yonkers,
NY; Paramus, NJ; Livingston, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; and
the Newark, NJ Airport (for flying campers).
Island Lake Camp offers youth a chance to participate
and develop their interest in a variety of camp offerings,
to include: mountain biking, circus techniques,
skateboarding, dance, pioneering, gymnastics, science,
theatre, horseback riding, technology, music, water
