7 - L Dec. 10:2/2 - Officers of the Ohio state hoard of agriculture
for 1857 are the following: President; Alexander Waddle, Clark county;
recording secretary, John M. Millikin, Butler county; treasurer, Lucian
Buttles, Franklin county; corresponding secretary, John H. Klippart,
Cuyahoga county. (3)
8 - L Dec. 30:2/2 - The fifth annual meeting of the U. S. Agricultural
society will be held at the rooms of the Smithsonian institute in Washington
on Jan. 14, 1857. Delegates of the various agricultural societies of
the United States will attend. (2)

ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS
9 - L Jan. 21:1/4 - Jacob Dobley was fined $10 yesterday on a charge
of selling Equor on Sunday. In default of payment he was sent to jail
for 20 days. (2)
10 - L Apr. 10: 1/4 - Martin Cunningham, Benjamin Shaw, and "Pat" McMalley
were each fined $10.77 on charges -of violating the election liquor ordinance.

11 - L Aug. 9: 3/2 - A 1 iquorshanty on Bath st. has, for some time past.
obstructed the streets and supplied customers with bad liquor. Officers
abated the nuisance yesterday by compelling Mrs. Russell the proprietress,
to get out. (2)
12 - L Oct. 13: 1/6 - On Oct. 11 an inquest was held by Coroner Erwin
into the death of Eliza Majo, found dead in her home on Taylor st. The
jury returned a verdict of death by continued use of intoxicating liquor.
