From a partnership between Aprilia Racing and the Akrapovic R&D team comes the latest 

evolution of the 2 in 2 exhaust system for the RSV 1000 R 2004. 

In this new version of the Aprilia Akrapovic exhaust system, power delivery is more fluid 

and controllable, making for a significantly improved acceleration out of corners and 

extended performance in the overrev band. The use of lightweight titanium and carbon 

fibre combined with a carefully designed configuration improve the handling of the bike, 

making it more responsive and less tiring to ride. These outstanding results are also due 

to the completely revised performance mapping to suit the characteristics of the new RSV 

1000 R 2004. Extensive testing on the bench and on the circuit has produced the ideal 

setup to ensure maximum performance with maximum reliability. A further innovation 

introduced with the RSV 1000 R 2004 is the possibility to activate the dedicated 

mapping, which is already installed on the bike’s ECU, using the diagnostic tool supplied 

to the Aprilia Service Network.

average a 45% reduction in weight compared with the corresponding

obtain the very best performance and race handling from the 

Tuono 1000 R. A totally authentic racing sound, increased 

torque and power, plus a significant reduction in the total 

weight and dimensions of the bike thanks to the use of 

titanium: an ultra light material with exceptional mechanical 

strength and corrosion resistance. These characteristics 

ensure an overall improvement in handling, more responsive

EPROM chip was developed exclusively for this system and 

fine tuned through extensive testing both on the bench and

AKRAPOVIC APRILIA RACING 2004 EXHAUST* 

From a partnership between Aprilia Racing and the Akrapovic R&D team comes 

the latest evolution of the 2 in 2 exhaust system for the RSV 1000 R 2004. 

In this new version of the Aprilia Akrapovic exhaust system, power delivery is more 

fluid and controllable, making for a significant improvement in acceleration out 

of bends and extended performance in the overrev band. The use of lightweight 

titanium and carbon fibre combined with a carefully designed configuration 

improve the handling of the bike, making it more responsive and less tiring to 

ride. These outstanding results are also due to the completely revised performance 

mapping to suit the characteristics of the new RSV 1000 R 2004. Extensive 

testing on the bench and on the circuit has produced the ideal setup to ensure 

maximum performance with maximum reliability. A further innovation introduced 

with the RSV 1000 R 2004 is the possibility to activate the dedicated mapping, 

which is already installed on the bike’s ECU, using the diagnostic tool supplied to 

the Aprilia Service Network.

The slip on exhaust kit born out of Aprilia racing experience and created 

exclusively for use on the racetrack. 

Made with a titanium outer shell and steel inner tubing, this exhaust provides 

a global improvement in performance: the system comes into its own at 6000 

rpm, from which point there is a consistent increase in power and torque. 

These results are achieved thanks to the dedicated performance mapping, 

which has been specifically designed to suit the new engine characteristics 

and refined through extensive testing both on the bench and on the track. In 

the case of the 2004 model, the dedicated mapping is already installed on 

the bike’s ECU and can be activated using the diagnostic tool supplied to the 

Aprilia Service Network. Surprisingly quick and simple installation is a yet 

another advantage of this excellent kit.
