In order for a student to be eligible in the category of Autism:<br />
A. The team has considered:<br />
1. The evaluation is sufficiently comprehensive to appropriately identify all of the child’s special education and<br />
related services needs, whether or not commonly linked to the disability category: should be checked “Yes.”<br />
2. The student can receive reasonable educational benefit from general education alone: should be checked<br />
“No.”<br />
3. The student’s performance: all should be checked: “is not.”<br />
B. The student’s Physical Disability in the area of Autism is characterized by: all 3 boxes must be checked “Yes,” and<br />
the Evaluation Report should contain documentation of the evidence of those identified characteristics.<br />
C. The student’s Physical Disability in the area of Autism interferes with: only those areas which are affected should be<br />
checked “Yes.”<br />
1. The student has a disability as defined in the State Rules for the Administration of the Exceptional<br />
Children’s Education Act: should be checked “Yes.”<br />
D. The student has a disability as defined in the State Rules for the Administration of the Exceptional Children’s<br />
Educational Act and is eligible for special education: should be checked “Yes.”<br />
