Administrative Division
Each issue, The Michigan Optometrist provides an update
from a different MOA Division. For this edition, we check
in with the Administrative Division. New committee members
are always needed! Contact MOA Trustee

Awards Committee: The Awards Committee
bumped the deadline for MOA Award nominations
up to Nov. 1 this year, and received several nominations
across the award categories. The Committee is
working to determine the recipients, and the awards will be presented during the MOA Winter Seminar,
Feb. 1-2 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. Registration forms for this event are available on
the MOA website, www.themoa.org.
Practice Standards & Professional Ethics Committee: This committee met on Nov. 29, and
voted unanimously to adopt the AOA’s recently revised Standards of Professional Conduct. The
committee is now drafting a Resolution on which the MOA House of Delegates will vote during its
annual Business Meeting, which if passed will adopt the AOA conduct standards for the MOA. The
MOA Annual Meeting and Spring Seminar will take place May 9 - 10 at the MOA Annual Meeting
and Spring Seminar in Grand Rapids.
Professional Development Committee: This committee will work over the course of the year to
promote and maintain relationships with other health care professionals, and to foster communication
and cooperation between groups.
