Will your motif be representational of something from life (like a floral pattern), or will
it be primarily abstract? Will it cover the entire piece, or will it create a random
rhythm around the form? Surface finish is another chance for the designer to
grab and keep the viewers’ attention. What will you emphasize with your
design?
Your stencil motif must be inspired by one of the following: stone, metal, wood,
flowers, plants, or the textures on animals, mammals or marine life.
