flexible dining options
Meal plans offer residential or commuter students a great value
We use only the freshest ingredients and prepare our menu items new, each and everyday.
Welcome to nutriSOURCE by AVI!
A Fresh Approach To Food
• House made soups from scratch stocks
• Fresh cut vegetables
• Fresh cut lettuce on-site daily
• House made salad dressings
• Real potatoes prepared on-site
• Fresh, house made pizza dough & breadsticks
• Pastries and desserts made from scratch
Diversity
We believe that good nutrition and expanded culinary
horizons contribute to student success. We have classic
American favorites as well as internationally influenced
cuisine like Middle Eastern, Indian, Latin, Mediterranean,
Eastern European and Asian. Not only is there endless
“all you care to eat” variety, but meal plan holders can
also enjoy “live action” foods being prepared to order.
In addition, we are very excited to introduce an all new
dining platform at the Ghafari Hall eatery this fall - a 100%
vegetarian concept which will also be certified kosher
dairy. Diners will have vegan and gluten free options.
Towers Cafe is transitioning to serving halal meats and
poultry in its menu offerings. The dining halls are open for
students seven days a week, which provides plenty of
opportunities to take full advantage of all levels
of meal plans.
Parent and Family
Information
As your child or loved one is becoming excited with
anticipation of this independent venture of moving to
college you may start to have mixed feelings about him/her
moving out. Letting go is never easy, however, when met
with encouragement and support it can result in a successful
experience for everyone involved.
Now that the countdown has begun, it is time to begin
preparing your student for the next chapter in their life.
During these last few days or weeks at home, have some of
the following conversations with your student.
• Show your student how to do laundry and manage their
finances.
• Create a list of serial numbers of any items they might be
bringing to campus with them.
• Encourage your student to limit what they bring with them,
as there are no storage spaces available in the residence
halls or apartments.
• Review financial aid, housing and dining contracts and
other campus policies in the Community Living Guide that
can be found online.
As you pull away from the curb on move-in day, know that
your student still needs you. They will still call asking for
advice or sometimes just for the positive affirmation that
they will succeed. They will encounter new experiences and
challenges and as parents or family members it is important
to trust that the values that you have instilled in them over
the years will be unpacked in their new home away from
home. And just when you think they won’t be coming back...
think again! They’ll be back for that favorite home-cooked
meal or to do so some laundry in a few weeks. And you will
have to admit you will miss them when they leave all over
again.
WHAT’S A FERPA?
FERPA is the Federal Rights and Privacy Act. Every college
student is protected by this as of 1974. This act prohibits
anyone other than the student from gaining access
to information regarding grades, housing or financial
information unless they are specified by name on a FERPA
release form. Students can give parents or other family
members permission to access this Information by filling
out this form. However, we recommend that you receive
this information directly from your student. Additional
information can be found at http://parents.wayne.edu/ferpa.
