About the <strong>ADAS</strong>IS Forum<br />
Set up in 2002, the <strong>ADAS</strong>IS Forum is an industry platform where vehicle<br />
manufacturers, <strong>ADAS</strong> suppliers, navigation system suppliers and map and data<br />
providers cooperate on the development and the implementation of the <strong>ADAS</strong><br />
<strong>Horizon</strong> concept.<br />
Our Mission<br />
Drive the broad adoption of a standardised interface between in-vehicle <strong>ADAS</strong><br />
applications and map data sources by aligning automotive OEM requirements,<br />

Strategy<br />
Define strategic plans with respect to the <strong>ADAS</strong> <strong>Horizon</strong> concept roadmap, including<br />
road attributes and applications, and support action to facilitate implementation.<br />
Develop synergies with national/international development and deployment<br />
activities relevant to digital maps, automotive navigation and <strong>ADAS</strong> applications.<br />
Liaise with standardisation activities.<br />
Technical<br />
Define a standardised data model, data requirements, and a functional architecture<br />
necessary to build the <strong>ADAS</strong> horizon.<br />
Define a standardised interface to enable <strong>ADAS</strong> applications to access this<br />
<strong>ADAS</strong> horizon.<br />
Determine the software interface specifications necessary to build/access the <strong>ADAS</strong><br />
horizon, including the protocols necessary to handle the required data stream via<br />
the in-vehicle data bus.<br />
Develop and maintain a reference implementation.<br />
Communication<br />
Promote the <strong>ADAS</strong> <strong>Horizon</strong> concept and benefits from enabled applications with<br />
respect to road safety, driving comfort, emission reduction and fuel economy.<br />
Organise demonstrations and participate in major conferences and congresses.<br />
