ALTER est une société créée à Paris en 1982 par le designer Alain Tergny,
elle a rejoint le groupe d’éclairage européen ETAP en 2002.
ALTER est le leader en éclairage indirect sur son marché domestique. Elle
crée, fait fabriquer et distribue des luminaires à sources fluorescentes,
cachées par une protection esthétique.
L’activité du sur mesure représente environ 40% de son chiffre d’affaires.
La réactivité commerciale, spécificité du marché français, repose sur un
stock de 10.000 luminaires, fin prêt à être posés, que possède ALTER en
Ile de France.
Présent et relayé en Europe par le réseau ETAP depuis 2003, la collection
« Softlights » est diffusée dans l’Union Européenne. ALTER est également
à l’écoute de nouveaux marchés qui viennent développer son implantation
: en Irlande, en Suisse, au Maroc, …
Sa capacité à réaliser du matériel sur mesure lui permet également de
participer à des chantiers « contract» à Dubaï, au Qatar,…

The company ALTER was founded in Paris in 1982 by the designer Alain Tergny.
It joined the European lighting group ETAP in 2002.
ALTER is the leader in indirect lighting in its home market. It creates, has made
and distributes fluorescent luminaires masked by aesthetic protective shades.
40% of its turnover is dedicated to customised activities. Marketing reactivity
the specific characteristics of the French market- requires that ALTER keeps a
stock of 10,000 luminaires in the Ile de France region, ready for installation.
Present and backed up by the ETAP network in Europe since 2003, the
“Softlights” collection is distributed in the European Union.
ALTER is also launching into new markets and is setting up in Ireland,
Switzerland, Morocco and elsewhere.
Its capacity for fabricating customised equipment enables it to participate in
construction contracts in Dubai, Qatar, etc.
