Letter from Director of Ashoka’s Venture & Fellowship Program Dear friend, I would like to thank you for your continued to support as Ashoka works toward building a world in which everyone is a changemaker. As a valued supporter who has walked this path of changemaking with us, I would like to share with you some highlights from the past year as well as the emerging trends we see in social innovation. I invite you to read the following pages to see where Ashoka Fellows are creating lasting impact across sectors, fields and geographies and creating an inclusive world where all individuals feel empowered to drive positive change. Over the last 30 years Ashoka has identified and invested in leading social entrepreneurs. Our rigorous and honed selection process permeates and drives our broader impact in the sector for two key reasons. First, our core work of sourcing early stage innovation allows Ashoka’s Venture process to become a predictive factor for what future trends will be most relevant and impactful to changing the world. In addition, the constant inflow of new leading entrepreneurs to our network refreshes and challenges the thinking and actions of all members and promotes inter-generational mentorship that both increase the network effect of Ashoka’s community. Ashoka’s Fellow selection process continually propels us into the future highlighting what the next great idea will be. Ashoka, in its 30 th year, is a much different organization than at its birth. We have transformed ourselves into a dynamic ecosystem of entrepreneurs leading critical change along strategic lines that collectively will foster the skills of effective changemaking in all people.
