Segment MEA, Measurements<br />
A segment specifying physical measurements of packages described in the PAC segment,<br />
e.g. pallet dimensions.<br />
Segment QTY, Quantity<br />
A segment to specify pertinent quantities relating to the physical units (packages) described<br />
in the PAC segment.<br />
Segment group 21 : PCI-GIN<br />
A group of segments identifying markings and labels and if relevant package numbers.<br />
Segment PCI, Package identification<br />
A segment specifying markings and labels used on individual physical units (packages)<br />
described in the PAC segment.<br />
Segment GIN, Goods identity numbers<br />
A segment providing identity numbers to be applied to the packages to be delivered.<br />
Segment UNT<br />
A service segment ending a message, giving the total number of segments in the message<br />
and the control reference number of the message.<br />
4.5 Detailed description of the message - subset of <strong>Eurofer</strong><br />
4.5.1 Detailed segment clarification<br />
This section is provided to give detailed clarification and a further explanation to the usage<br />
of the data elements in the segments of the <strong>Delivery</strong> schedule message defined in the subset<br />
of <strong>Eurofer</strong>. The message consists of two sections, a heading section and a detail section.<br />
The section 4.5.2. describes each segment used in the heading section of the <strong>Eurofer</strong><br />
<strong>Delivery</strong> schedule message. The section 4.5.3. describes each segment used in the detail<br />
section of the <strong>Eurofer</strong> <strong>Delivery</strong> schedule message.<br />
The original EDIFACT segment layout is listed. The appropriate comments relevant to the<br />
<strong>Eurofer</strong> subset are indicated.<br />
The segments are presented in the sequence in which they appear in the message. The<br />
segment and the segment group tag is followed by Mandatory or Conditional indicator, the<br />
maximum number of occurrences and the segment description.<br />
Reading from left to right, in column one the usage indicator is for the use of the EDIFACT<br />
data elements in the <strong>Eurofer</strong> subset.<br />
In the other columns the information is given about the data element tag, data element name,<br />
followed by the EDIFACT status and the format.<br />
The codes used for the usage indicator (USG. IND.) for the data elements are,<br />
R for REQUIRED - Should always be used in the message<br />
O for OPTIONAL - May be used by trading partners if required.<br />
X for EXCLUDED - Not used in the message.<br />
